My fiance and I were extremely disappointed with our overall experience with Annina’s Bakeshop. We initially reached out in October 2022 to book with them for our October 2023 wedding, as they had an exclusive contract with our venue. We signed our contract in November of 2022. Trying to get a hold of someone to take our deposit was an extremely long and frustrating process. When we finally were able to get someone to answer our calls, it took an additional month to have the card charged. This made it difficult to ensure that the card had space at that time that wasn’t being taken up with other wedding related expenses.

In June 2023, we attempted to book a tasting to finalize our menu. This process took weeks. Our point of contact with Annina’s (Katie) told my fiance and I different things regarding the times and dates we could schedule. When we finally were able to have our tasting, we were happy with the taste and quality of the food. What we were not happy with was the additional wait time we had following our tasting while we waited on our point of contact to come and see us to finalize the menu. We had to ask a waitress to please ask Katie to come and see us after waiting for 30 minutes. Following that wait, she was unable to answer many of our questions and had to get the chef.

Once we finalized our menu via email that night, we assumed we were good to go other than paying the remainder of our balance. This was incorrect. In mid August 2023, Katie reached out again requesting we finalize our menu and floor plans which we have previously done. My response to her email went unanswered for 4 weeks before I reached out to the company through their website. The owner became involved before we received an answer that our menu was confirmed. Once the owner was involved things leading up to the day were smoother.

On the day of our wedding, we were disappointed with the quality and taste of the food. It was fine, but did not live up to what we experienced during our tasting. We also found that our dessert buffet was cleared very quickly rather than being left out for guests to enjoy during dancing, which is frustrating as we paid a lot of money for the food.

Overall, we would not recommend Annina’s for catering. The entire process was frustrating and drawn out for poor quality and execution.

Adding on to this, when reviewing contracts following our wedding, we came to the realization we were overcharged by $1000. Interactions with the owner regarding this and some concerns we had regarding our wedding day were dealt with passive aggressiveness and a “too bad so sad” attitude. While we do have money we were owed, the owner felt we should have gone to him instead of writing a negative review. I stand by our review. Do NOT book with this company if you want what you are...

An Unforgettable Bakery Experience!

Server: Joey C

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Annina’s Bakeshop & Catering, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish! As a connoisseur of baked goods, I hold high expectations for quality, taste, and presentation, and this bakery exceeded them all.

From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with the warmest of smiles and the comforting aroma of freshly baked treats wafting through the air. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a charming interior that exuded both elegance and a sense of home.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the pastries! Each bite was a symphony of flavors, showcasing the skill and passion that the bakers put into their creations. The Cinnabons were perfect to say the least, with a sweet richness that melted in my mouth.

But it wasn't just the taste that impressed me; the attention to detail in the presentation was remarkable. The pastries were beautifully arranged, almost too exquisite to devour. Every item displayed a careful touch, reflecting the bakery's dedication to craftsmanship and artistry.

The staff members at Annina’s Bakeshop & Catering were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to assist. They patiently answered all my questions, making recommendations based on my preferences. Their passion for their craft shone through their exceptional customer service, adding an extra layer of satisfaction to my visit.

To top it all off, the bakery's commitment to using high-quality ingredients and their adherence to hygiene and cleanliness standards were apparent in every aspect. I felt confident and assured that I was indulging in treats made with love and care.

In conclusion, Annina’s Bakeshop & Catering is an absolute gem, and I can't recommend it enough. Whether you're a pastry aficionado or simply someone looking for a memorable bakery experience, this place is a must-visit. Prepare to be enchanted by the tantalizing aromas, exquisite flavors, and the warmth of the bakery's ambiance. I guarantee you'll leave with a smile on your face and a...

Met a friend who works in the area and had been recently to this establishment and recommended it. So we went together this past week to have a light lunch. We had cup of soup each and split a sandwich. No drinks. It was 24.35 It was busy and we were in a time crunch so we paid and could only sit outside as it was packed upstairs. We waited for them to bring our food which wasn’t too long and they had been considerate enough to put a cup of soup and a half of the sandwich on separate plates for us. We ate the sandwich which was tasty but the soup was awful. For that price it needed to be outstanding. So I took it back in and told them we didn’t enjoy the soup and questioned the price because it occurred to me that we may have paid for a bowl of soup each but received a cup in error. There are no prices on the food menu so it was hard to calculate the cost and we did not get a bill either. Actually I usually avoid places that don’t tell you up front what the prices are...but we were on a tight time schedule as it was. The owner took the soups back and rang in the original order to provide a receipt then refunded my money for the soups. She then offered me some free baked goods which we were going to try anyway. We got a skor brownie and a walnut buttertart but she put in the box two of each. I like the location and the layout of the establishment. The staff are young and inexperienced but the owners understand about good customer service. The baked goods looked amazing but are lacklustre in flavour. The brownie was bland as was the buttertart though the pastry was nice. So overall I have to say for the place is a disappointment. The prices are high but not worth for the taste of the product. I feel badly saying that because the owner was so apologetic and tried her best to make our experience positive. If presentation is your main objective then they...

2024 February 4★ A fairly large and favorable spot within the small community and those passing by. A good selection of bakery items and also cooked or prepared foods. The butter tarts are what they are known for where they've won awards (2018). Med Coffee $1.95 A mellow coffee that's not bitter. Pretty smooth. Not bad Black Forest Strudel $3.95 A strudel with chocolate and strawberry filling. Icing drizzled on top. Pretty good. Pecan Tart $3.25 Heat this up and you can taste the flaky, custard like butter tart and it's soft silky smooth texture. Not too sweet. Very good. Was never a butter tart person, but this was very good. Would recommend and ask to get it warmed up. Apple Pie $12.00 Very good. Apple slices are larger. A bit sweeter, but still very good with their consistent pastry shell (same as the butter tarts). At this price, would recommend. Dozen Cookies $10.50 Skor, oatmeal raisin and peanut butter. All were very good. Though personally liked the skor and oatmeal raisin. You can taste all the good quality ingredients. Parking for about 25 cars First floor: kitchen, frozen items, meats and dry and baked goods ordering area. Second floor: seating for about 30 or so with a small ordering desk.

Food: 2/5 - Lacks flavor, okay presentation. We ordered Beef Melt and Eggs Florentine as they were out of Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict. Beef Melt had a lot of chewy parts (fat) and we could only eat half of it and left the rest. Eggs Florentine did not have any flavor as there was barely any hollandaise sauce on them but the presentation was good. Service: 1/5 - Horrible service. Our server was energetic welcomed to our seats took the orders promptly. However, did not offer any water. We asked for mustard sauce, she said she will get it but never did. The server never checked up on us regarding food or drinks. We noticed she was talking to other people offered them water and checked up regarding food. An elderly asian couple waited about 30 minutes just to give their order. They had to flag the server multiple times. We also had to flag another server to pay. She left the machine and no follow whatsoever. Atmosphere: 4/5 - Busy There was a line but it moved fast. Lots of cyclists. Good quaint interior. Lots of light and open patio seating outside.

Highlights: great coffee & treats, friendly staff, well-maintained gender neutral washrooms upstairs, fun ambiance NOTE: Make sure to check the front parking lot before turning in, as it is very tight to back out of if it’s full, and it’s often busy! There is a second parking lot around the corner as well. Stopped for lunch along the road, great food. They have sauces, preserves, soup, etc. you can buy and take home, a dining room upstairs to eat in at, a picnic area outside for sunny days, and you can order takeout at the front. It can be a bit of a wait at times, but well worth it. They have award winning butter tarts! I got the Harvest salad and some treats, very good dressing and fresh veg. Chicken was a bit dry, but that’s okay. My friend got the jerk chicken wrap and when they say it has heat, take them at their word, even if it’s a small town Ontario cafe! If you have a low tolerance, best to choose something milder. Also, Ritcher’s Greenhouse is just down the road if you’d like to stroll around after your meal.
