Gerni’s Farmhouse - Adult Only 16+ — Restaurant in Vernon

This place was AMAZING!

Since I was staying at Sparkling Hill, I visited Gerni's Farmhouse twice. But we wish we visited this restaurant every night.

The photos below are of the Schweinsschnitzel/Pork Schnitzel ($28), Mushroom Sauce ($7), Hausgemachter Apfelstrudel/Apple Strudel ($14), Hugo ($13) and the Gebratene Florelle/Seared Trout ($34). But, I also tried their Pretzels ($6), Kässpätzle ($26) and Tagessuppe/Soup of the day ($14) which was a butternut squash soup.

Everything, and I mean everything, was phenomenal. The quality of everything was high, the portions were huge, service was fantastic and to our server Christian.. You are seriously THE BEST server I have ever had in my life. My entire table said the same thing.

This man would hear us drop a spoon from another room and come running with a new one. He also heard a drink was spilled from another room and appeared in seconds with towels. Phenomenal service. Even the lady the 2nd night was good too.

Now onto the food... You will not be disappointed. Skip dinners at PeakFine, Gerni's Farmhouse is the unique and amazing experience you're looking for. You can try something new every night and not be disappointed. Their salads were even so good that my table ordered MORE. The Pork Schnitzel was massive and delicious, add the mushroom sauce and you are in heaven. The Apple Strudel was life changing. Seriously, a work of art. The seared trout was so, SO good. I could taste the freshness in the veggies, it had me scraping my plate clean. The Pretzels were so good that my group ordered some to go, then we tried dipping them in the soup of the day and we were shocked with how good it tasted. They inspired us to make home made soups in the near future. While I didn't order the Kässpätzle, I tried many forkfuls. The portion size was HUGE. It's homemade “spätzle” pasta covered with cheese, garnished with chive & crispy onion. Easily one of the best things I've ever tasted. Even the drinks were refreshing and delicious.

Again, if you get anything from this review, just know that at Gerni's you get your money's worth in great service, big portions, high quality foods and great...

If you are wanting delicious German food with a very cool vibe drive 3.5 south to Leavenworth Washington. We would eat there 10x over. Sparkling Hill is such an stunning property with beautiful amenities and a real luxury to stay here. I would expect much better food and am very disappointed. We were told by our several people that the food on the whole property is not good. We were excited for Gerni’s farmhouse and we decided despite what we heard we would try it. The building is super cool inside and out and loved the music playing (not live tonight) and I love it’s story. The chicken schnitzel was dry and came with 3 nugget potatoes cut and a green salad for $36. The pork hock was ok. The coleslaw was great, hard to mess up cabbage salad with vinegar and seed. Pretzel did not take like it was made in house and the mustard was very sweet. My parents and grandparents are from Bavaria so I am a tough critic. Though the beautiful view on the deck for our 10 year wedding anniversary dinner was nice… and the grapefruit radler and bier was delish. The Apfelstrudel very disappointing, the top pastry was burnt and underneath the apples but above the bottom pastry was soggy cake. Our server was nice and we shared our disappointment with our meal. We are disappointed.

we were really excited to go there have a lunch and great time, to be honest all three of us were actually little disappointed... i had a soup and the Schweinshaxe and the two woman had the Leberkaese mit Kartoffelsalat .... Leberkaese was over salded and cold did not have any Liver flavor, the Kartoffelsalat was excellent and tasted great. 2.The soup I had don't now really what it was, sorry to say... Schweinshaxe was overcooked far to long smoked or what ever taste it was and for sure not fresh and was cold served, the Salad came dry no dipping or even a question belongs that, Kartoffelsalat excellent service was mega friendly very helpful had a lot attention yes I really liked the service/waitress. the building is fantastic first-class workmanship and well selected material what matched each other great.

All together the money i paid the food was not worth, that had nothing to do with GERMAN FOOD at all... I gave 3 Stars for the really nice building, the interior and location and for sure because the service was excellent. I will not go there anymore the GERMAN FOOD I cook at home is better ( I am a German). i understand it is not easy to copy a taste but that was far away...
