Pallino's was my 198th eatery in Vernon on my quest to eat at every eatery in town. This is one of two restaurants in Predator Ridge. It is practically next to the Range Restaurant building. This restaurant doesn't have table service. You have to pay for individual bottles of soda. There is a limited number of tables so you feel a bit pressured to leave before you want to when you spot a longer queue at the door. The bathroom is really clean. The workers were really friendly and effective. The hours of operation are a bit inconsistent and confusing. I paid just over $30 for a mushroom woodfire pizza, and a bottle of Coke which came with a free cup of ice. Pizzas are all priced at $25 and the bruschetta is $15. Woodfire pizza slices are a bit thinner than the average woodfire pizza. I also paid $14 for two to go pepperoni slices for my mom. The crust tasted fine. Overall, I enjoyed my pizza, but the high price point and great but not outstanding pizza and its location on the outskirts of town makes it difficult to justify a return trip. Come here if you plan to be in the area, but don't drive fifteen to twenty minutes out of your way solely just to eat here. Go to Masiero's if you live closer to downtown for a woodfire craving or eat at Range if you're eager to eat at Predator Ridge. In other words, this restaurant is like a B+ or A-. It's pretty good. 198 eateries in Vernon are now complete. I only have eight remaining.

Drove out to Pallinos to try the gelato after dinner in Vernon one Friday evening. Ordered the hazelnut and pistachio gelato and they were very good. Much better quality than La Carraria downtown. The only downside is that there is only 1 size of gelato so if you want a small cup, that's not an option. They also looked to be short staffed as they changed their hours, closing an hour earlier than usual. The system for ordering and paying for gelato/drinks could be improved as we ordered gelato, had it scooped but then waited for quite a while to pay as the cash register was being used to ring up dinner orders for 2 families who arrived after us. The gelato was well on its way to melting into liquid by the time we were able to enjoy it. All the outdoor tables were occupied so we walked around the area to find chairs overlooking the golf course.

Very dissatisfied. Off the list. Ordered Sunday from Melanie. She was rude from the very start. Asked for the "polo e funghi" with no mushrooms. I asked for garlic on the pizza and was rudely told they don't have garlic. Italian restaurant with no garlic. Ok. Picked up our order, got home. No chicken in the penne. I called back and she clearly didn't know what polo was as she said that is the way I ordered it. 2 lousy tasting pastas, a pizza and 2 small gelato for $80. What a joke. Never going back. Not to mention that the prices are not even on the bill.

My son took me for lunch the other day. Pizza was half burnt. First they said they would remake it if we wanted to wait. My son said yes. 2 minutes later the waitress came to the table with the pizza which was burned black yet the center was gooey and raw dough. The waitress gave 5% off for a pizza we didnt eat (worked out to a little over a dollar). The waitress was good, atmosphere was pleasant but the pizza waa horrid. Over $45 for 2 pizzas one of which was fed to the dog. Had we been properly compensated for the burned/raw pizza would have made me want to try this place again. But when you spend that much for pizza, you expect a decent pizza that has been cooked properly. Wouldn't...
