Went here for lunch on Canada Day. We were there after the main lunch hour and found the place to be busy but we didn't have to wait. The only table available had just been vacated and the staff cleaned and wiped it off immediately. I ordered the fish and chips and my wife ordered the Penny burger which is a bacon cheeseburger. Both meals had very good portions. I enjoyed the fish but had to ask for additional tartar which the server brought out very quickly. The fries are excellent. I always use McDonald's Fries as the bench mark and these are better! The fish seemed to be a beer battered haddock. I do NOT normally like beer battered as for me it's usually greasy and tends to be a thicker coating. This was neither and very good. I enjoyed the fish a lot! The only fault I found was the serving size of the slaw. It was in a tub the same size as the tartar. I really enjoyed the slaw and it's unique color. I was left wanting more. The sample of slaw wasn't enough for me especially given how good it is! Otherwise this was a great experience. Now get in there and find the Lost Penny, you won't be...

The food was fantastic, if your looking for a good authentic poutine, they definitely get the job done with rich brown gravy, crispy fries and real white cheddar cheese curds. I also had the beef dip sandwich which was super tasty. The ceasar I had was also very good. The only thing I found not 10 out of 10 was the spinach dip we ordered as an appetizer. It had a bit of tangy flavor and the cheese had kind of separated (very greasy) it wasn't terrible and could have just been a one off. Overall I really enjoyed this small pub with a everybody knows your name vibe. Would...
Read moreThe bar tender/waiter was the only good thing about this place. He was respectful, attentive and polite. From the moment we sat down we were almost carried away by flies. No less than 15 flies harrassed us landing on us and our food. I ordered a pulled pork poutine, the pulled pork was dry and burnt, the fries were cheap what looked to be McCain seasoned fries and next to no gravy on poutine. My wife ordered a side of fries and got the same cheap fries and they charged us $8 for them. I have been to many pubs and love pub food but I would not ever go back here again. Did not have a pub vibe, was more like a sports bar. If your looking for an authentic pub style experience I would...
