First time in today. Friday night at 7 and no more chicken!!! They were pretty busy. I ordered the meat plate. So much grease i couldn't finish it. But my biggest concern was that the cook who was certainly struggling called the big boss to come in and help. I mean big, this guy was HUGE. So he comes in off the street and immediately starts cooking. Well I noticed that he never washed his hands before handling the food, cheese cucumbers salad you name it he hands were in everything. Wiping sweat off his forehead. I was completely disgusted. The original cook was wearing gloves but this guy NOPE!!! I think he the owner or something but clearly he wasn't concerned about health and safety issues. He just wanted the food out. And to top it off I watched him drop a bun on the floor and then pick it up and put it on the grill! I don't understand why people love this place. Maybe if they saw how the food was prepared they'd have a different review.
In response to the owner,
I am a red seal certified chef for 22 years now and I do understand that the line can get uncomfortably hot during service. I also understand that cleanliness and food costs are extremely important to any kitchen. I do apologize if I did not see him wash his hands directly but if he did it was extremely fast. If the cooks wear hats to absorb the sweat then it won't be so bad. Believe me I'm in the kitchen daily so I understand the struggles we all have. But in a open kitchen like yours I would suggest that gloves be worn at all times regardless of how hot it gets, and just change them often before they melt, it would make me and others feel more at ease. As far as the bun thing I know what I saw. I will try your restaurant again in the future, but maybe when it not so busy. Thank you for your response and I wish you all the best...
Read moreAfter months of being curious, we finally tried Snuffy's. We weren't sure what to expect.
As a family of 5, we ordered the family platter for pick-up. We were curious with their Greek fries and requested to replace the potatoes with this one. The owner, without hesitation, accommodated. I think his name is Kamal.
When I picked up the food, he was generous to throw in some drinks. He didn't have to do that, and we really appreciated the kind gesture.
The food is fresh and very tasty. If there is one complaint, I would suggest to make the chicken and pork a little more juicy. Don't get me wrong, it's not dry, but a little more juiciness would be nice. Overall, the rice, meat, fries, salad, pita are all delicious!
The portion is generous too. Enough to make 5 adults full!
Although we ordered for pick-up, when I got to the restaurant, I noticed it's clean and tidy, and I didn't smell like food when I left, which means they have good ventilation.
We will definitely come back for these reasons:
If you're on the fence about this restaurant, I suggest you give it a shot. I don't think you'd be...
Read moreI eat keto/low carb and I've always ordered the meat platter with extra tzatziki (theirs is out of this world!!). I've always been satisfied with the portion size except for last time as I paid the usual price for about half the portion.
I absolutely understand the cost of just about everything has gone up, but significantly reducing the portion size while still charging the same cost just isn't fair... it's better to up the cost if you have to rather than giving a smaller portion size vs the usual portion size I would be given everytime I ordered the item.
Either way, the food IS great here, the people working are always nice, and I do definitely recommend them. However it will be awhile before I go back.
Edit: I just saw new management has taken over and that can definitely explain the portion size difference as they probably weren't aware of how much was given in the meat platter portion previously. My original rating was 3 stars, but I've changed it to 4 stars once finding this out. Again, I definitely recommend trying Snuffy's Grill, the taste...
