We stopped by to try the Two Barrels Anniversary Beer which is the river red beer with increased ABV finished in dark rum and honey whiskey barrels. The beer itself is very good with notes of caramel, coco and whiskey. The double barrel punch increases if you pair it with Sagitawah Fusion Chicken. They have also added a 2 more TVs so you can come down for the game.
Tried the blonde ale again and it was much better, crisp and malty.
There's been some pretty fantastic East Indian/fusion added to the menu! We had the fusion stir-fry and chicken Satay. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of refreshingly different flavors. I have a suspicion a high level chef was in the kitchen.
4th visit on wing night Wednesday, big improvement to the wings. Mexican lauger is pretty good as well. Patio seating in the front and back now.
Third visit, Blonde Ale is much improved and the NEIPA (New England IPA) is fantastic. They also added a Raspberry Ginger Ale that is very good.
Second visit a month later. They've added a really good Stout coffee & chocolates notes, the IPA was also really good. I tried the Buffalo Chicken wrap & fries were simple, clean, tasty and pairs well with stout and IPA - Interesting brand of Ketchup.
Great new spot in town for some locally brewed beer. The brewery is catering to a milder form of different styles of beer, less intense flavours. They have 5 beers on tap and 5 fermenters onsite, so I'm hoping for lots of new beers & styles especially a brewmaster's...
Read moreWhen Sagitawah first partnered with Ram's Kitchen, the food was AMAZING. We normally get the butter chicken and Naan bread and we wrote a review on here signing our praise about how good the butter chicken was and how great it was that they were able to make dairy/lactose free butter chicken as sell as a veggie version as I don't eat meat. The Naan bread was so fresh and soft and delicious. Good portions.
We got food today and it has unfortunately gone downhill. They no longer do dairy/lactose free at all, there weren't all that many veggies in my veggie butter 'chicken' and the Naan bread was much smaller portion, all squished up together and doughy. Coconut rice we used to get filled to the rim and that wasn't the case today.
The flavour of the butter chicken has also changed. Where before we were RAVING about it, it still has good flavour but almost more of a tomato flavour vs butter chicken.
Its too bad as the food was good when they first open up. Don't get me wrong, the bar food is probably still good, my daughter who couldn't have the butter chicken as she can't have lactose, had the salt and pepper wings and she said they were really good.
But the butter chicken and Naan has lost its luster for me and I can't eat it...
Read moreI have stayed in Whitecourt many times but not until today did I really look for a good restaurant. I found this place in a moment and I am floored. Are you kidding me? A brewery that specializes in Indian cuisine? I was over here in a flash. The beer was great and the food was even better. Great location with ample parking, big open floor plan, sunshine streaming in the window adjacent to my booth, fantastic beers on tap? I am shocked that this place isn’t packed. Shocked. My food came fast and was better even than my beer. I simply will not go anywhere else in Whitecourt and you should not either.
Edit 2025-09: stopped on for another dinner and … something changed. I think it was ownership! The menu went from “everything but beef” to “dominated by beef”. Not much Indian left. I had a Philly cheesesteak that was on over buttered bread (?) and an overdressed Caesar salad. I won’t change the stars yet but … something...
