So very disappointed in Dairy Queen.
I went on March 8 (2025), and while the food was good, the level of service was somewhat offensive.
One particular employee made me feel like my family was an inconvenience to him. When our order of onion rings was ready, he slowly walked to us with a lackadaisical expression, as if he was burdened by the task of bringing us our order. And while DQ promises that employees will say "thank you", no thank you was given. Instead, I was the one to say thank you, to which he expressionlessly handed us the onion rings without a word. My wife, as he walked away, said "thank you so much", and he didn't so much as look at her. He acted as if my wife didn't exist and walked back to the kitchen area. For someone to not even acknowledge my wife and ignore her in front front of my kids left me with a very uneasy feeling.
On the same visit, I asked a woman at the front for an extra spoon. There was a blank expression as she handed me a spoon, and no response was given when I said "thank you". Again, I was left feeling as though I had burdened someone...
DQ, if your goal is to make customers feel values and welcomed, then you are far from that goal (based on my experience on March 8, at least). Your store had great potential, but only if staff are going to be passionate about customer service.
The only employee who made us feel welcome was a Filipino lady who was mopping the floor. She gave us a big smile as we walked out and said "bye bye" to our kid(s). She seemed happy that we were there.
If the Filipino lady was the only employee in the building, this would be a...

The Google map pin is pretty off target for some reason. It’s closer to the Chevrolet than to the correctional center.
We were in the drive-through line behind two trucks with Northwest license plates. Not sure they were here for business or simply drove to Whitehorse just to have a taste of DQ. Either way, the place was packed and we were lucky to get a parking spot and gave up waiting for standstill drive through lineup.
The store manager was running the floor in and out of the back counter doing everything that could help the rush hour. The staff was nervous, understandably, basically tried really hard not missing any step. First the meal, then what kind of side and drink and dips and dessert. Played by the book, which was very well-trained. A bit robotic but I’m sure they will get better at it within weeks.
As for the burgers, fries and chicken strips, well… they tasted satisfying, nothing crazy exciting, nothing to complain about.
I didn’t finish my burger though, as I bit on a coal-like burnt meat that got stuck in between of two patties. I knew it was caused by overwhelmed rush hour, but thought I pointed it out.
Overall, my kid was not happy finding out I went there during her school hour and demanded a go tomorrow. We will be a regular.
Oh, almost forgot. DQ ain’t about their burgers or fries or any of those. It’s about their sweets! Damn, that Reese Blizzard really...
Read moreI’m about a year ago I ordered through drive-through a couple of burgers and an order of chicken strips. When I got home the burgers were there but the chicken strips were not iPhone headquarters down east and I was told they would look into it. I tried contacting the manager here in Whitehorse a couple of times with no success. I never did receive a settlement of any kind for this poor service. Second complaint I have about drive-through happened months ago my daughter brought me, a bacon special hamburger which was supposed to have onion rings on it but when I opened it up here at home, there were no onion rings. I think this is a very poorly managed dairy Queen. In future I will not leave the drive-through as until I checked my whole order to see it is...
