We recently visited Cilantro and had a mixed experience overall. Here’s what stood out:
Things We Loved: Friendly Service: The server was attentive, checking in at regular intervals to ensure we had everything we needed. Delicious Food: The food was absolutely delightful! We tried the Butter Chicken, Amritsari Kulcha, Chai, and Chhole Bhature. Every dish was flavorful, though the Kulcha had too many black seeds (not sure what they’re called), which slightly overshadowed the taste. Affordable Pricing: The menu is very reasonably priced, offering great value for money considering the portion sizes and taste.
Areas for Improvement: Cutlery and Plates: The cutlery was stained, likely from not being wiped properly after dishwashing, and the plates were heavily scratched, which took away from the overall presentation. Cleanliness and Comfort: The tables had noticeable yellow stains, and the chairs were not very comfortable. This, combined with the dated interior, gave the place a less-than-appealing ambiance. Music and Ambiance: The music was too loud and didn’t suit the restaurant’s vibe. Although the server lowered the volume once upon request, it was turned up again, which was sort of annoying.
Final Thoughts:
While the food and service are excellent, the dining experience could be significantly enhanced with improvements in cleanliness, ambiance, and attention to small details like music and seating comfort. Despite these drawbacks, we would still consider returning for the...
Read moreFood tastes good, but the restaurant is filthy, including dinnerware. I used to love this place, but I will never go back. If you don't want to read it all, just be aware that tables aren't wiped, plates and cups were dirty. I cannot eat at this restaurant as I cringe thinking about how dirty the kitchen may be.
Our last visit was such a disappointment. Our table was not clean when we sat down, and still sticky after we asked for it to be wiped (during which time cleaner was sprayed on my arm and menu). My wife's wine came in a dirty glass (see pics), delivered by someone wearing wet gloves. Gross! My beer came with crusty brown stuff around the neck (see pics). The beer was replaced, but only after our food came. Our food came before our dinnerware (see pics). Our first plates were both dirty, with crusty food bits on them, and my napkin had finger prints of someone who obviously had food on their fingers. Our new plates came, and one was dirty again! I was so disgusted I nearly left. My third plate was clean.
I sound like a crazy person, but it was terrible. So disappointing. Our dinner was ruined by all the filth. Never again.
And when you pay, there is no option to tip lower than 15%. I asked the cashier. Either zero, 15% or higher. And so despite the terrible service I tipped them 15% because I am not an...
Read moreWe went there first time for dinner, we are new here and found this place on google after checking out reviews. Indian/Punjabi girl in the kitchen doesn’t know how to talk. She is talking in her own language which we understand fully. They can’t customize the order even if customers are willing to pay for it. We asked to switch prawn with fish/chicken she said no. We accepted the same, then we ask if we can get tandoori roti instead of naan she refused it. She just wants to sell the naan bread. Like literally we requested the cheap price thing instead of naan but willing to pay the price of naan. The girl at back is like who will eat the naan then? She is talking too loud. It’s like there is no respect for customers walking in and seating there. I will not recommend to visit this place especially because of that girl working there who doesn’t know how to treat the customers. We left the store without eating anything. I think the owner needs to keep an eye on these type of staff working there, how they are treating the guest and talking in their own language at back loudly which customers can understand too. We just went to dine in and get take out food order for friends...
