UTTERLY DISAPPOINTING.

Boy, oh boy, was I excited to see a bubble tea place in Transcona. Too bad I will never frequent this business EVER again, after the AWFUL experience I had.

When I walked in, the place was empty (and after my experience, I understand why). It was the first hot day of the year, and I felt bad for the staff member having to work in the hot, stuffy environment.

I ordered three drinks: one was ordered half-sweet, one was ordered with no dairy, and the third was ordered without modification. Somehow, I was charged for four drinks (they made a black tea mango, and a mango slush, when I simply ordered a black tea mango half-sweet). I clarified that the black tea mango was supposed to be half-sweet and that I did not order a mango slush: the worker did not care and did not try to remedy the situation.

The MAJOR concern was that when I ordered the dairy-free bubble tea, I specified that I had a severe dairy allergy. I made sure to say "milk and dairy free". When the worker was making the drink, I notice copious amounts of a suspicious white powder being put into the drink. I asked whether the powder had milk. The worker responded "no it's creamer". I again had to ask whether it had milk or dairy. Again, I was told, "no it's creamer". I followed up with "my throat will close if that creamer has milk or dairy, are you sure it doesn't have milk or dairy?" Sheepishly, the worker acknowledged the creamer was a milk product.

If I had not observed the worker putting the white powder in my drink, I quite literally could have died. Food allergies are no joke. When modifications are requested, particularly when it is specified that they are allergy-related, they should be diligently implemented. Failure to do so is inexcusable.

I ended up leaving with only one drink: the drink that did not have any modifications. I was charged for four drinks. The worker did not offer a refund despite the horrendous mess up, on their part.

The person that drank the bubble tea that we took said it was "fine", but a little bit powdery.

So, if you are looking for horrible customer service, an uninviting atmosphere, and mediocre bubble tea, this is the...

As soon as I heard about this, I HAD to come check it out! One of my fav is thai milk tea, and I was SO happy to find out that they have it! I went on there opening day in the evening. I had 3 other people that went with me, so I also had a bit of tasting from what they got. I first got my thai milk tea (obviously), and omg... I LOVED it. I've tried this flavour from other places throughout the city, and they generally taste all the same. This one though, it has that same great taste, but with like half the sugar/sweetness!!! Now that may not sound like a big deal, but here's why. Thai milk tea normally comes already premade, but somehow this place has it down different. It's a good one I'm telling you! After I had downed all my milk tea, I got one more, and it was there peach bubble tea. I don't have much to say about this other than 1-2 things? The flavour is good but on the other hand it wasn't as blended and smooth as it should've been, but that's nothing to complain about. Given that there a new shop that just opened up, I don't doubt that within time there just gonna get better. As far as what my friends got, 2 of them got matcha green tea milk tea. I took some sips and it tasted really good, but again, it wasn't mixed 100%. It had that powdery-ness in your mouth, and that went for both of them. For that though, I'm not too surprised, because other green tea milk teas still have that powdery-ness as well. Lastly, my other friend got one of there signature shaved ice in the coconut flavour. I had like a small bite, and to my surprise it was really coconuty! In conclusion, there stuff seems to be a good hit! I'm glad there's something like this for it's area. If you don't like this place, then you must be crazy to not give it at least a second chance later on. There only going to get better with time! They need more asian stuff in...

it's my first time coming here, and i was excited to try the snow with my sister. i've seen photos online about their items but when i first came in i felt unwelcomed. the person working there had no customer service and wasn't welcoming at all, she was wearing airpods and not focused on us at all.

i thought the snow would be like bingsu, shaved frozen milk in a way but it turned out differently than i expected, i'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to look like but my snow came out as stretchy and super gooey and not good tasting.

i expected it to be like other shaved ice milk desserts i've tried but it was just so oddly stretchy and gooey and not tasty - it's my first time so someone let me know if that's really how it's supposed to look because i've seen photos online on their instagram and it looks like regular shaved milk ice.

overall, we said thank you despite it all and she didn't pay any attention us because she was busy with her airpods, unfortunately...

The price of the snow is very affordable compared to it's bingsu competition. We tried the honey dew adding condensed milk with fresh fruit and it was fantastic. The fresh fruit tasted fresh (we have had some issues with other snow places and their fruit) $5.99 We also tried the red bean latte. Their tea is very floral and fragrant. A lovely Jasmine. $4.99 My only comment is I would have liked it hotter. I like my drinks burning hot. Next time I will ask. We used to go to snozen but since they closed were looking for a new snow place. It is a bit far for us but we will be back. Parking is easy in a huge lot shared with other businesses. It is located far in the depth of Transcona. Still I think it's worth it if you are looking for Vancouver like Taiwanese shaved ice.

I'm not a huge fan of bubble tea or milk tea but it seems to be the new craze, so I keep trying them at different places hoping to find one that I really like. I may end the search and just keep ordering this Halo - Snow. It was delicious. My daughter ordered the Blueberry Slush which I thought was a waste of money but after trying it, it was also delicious. If you haven't tried this place I highly recommend it.

I wish I could write a better review but I can’t. First time at Icy Snow and tried the Strawberry Shortcake Snow. The snow was ok however my issue was flavouring used is artificial strawberry and no short cake. Put biscoff type cookie instead. It was overall a lower version of similar desserts I’ve tried before that use higher quality ingredients. Would I return? Perhaps for a bubble tea but not the snow desert.
