Niakwa Pizza•Elizabeth — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I have been ordering Niakwa Pizza since I was a teenager (that’s many years). I always felt it was the best pizza on earth. The pizza is still superb. But today it took 3 hours to delivered today. Phone call number which was at the 90 minute mark, and told it was a very busy night and I would get my pizza shortly. At the 1 hour and 30 minutes later I was told driver is on the way. At 2 hours and 30 minutes my third call I was in touch with a young lady who said the driver delivered the pizza. When I told her she said it was delivered to a kid at the door. There is no kid here. And she insisted it was delivered. The driver insisted it was delivered. And she said it was delivered to a house with 2 pine trees and a fire hydrant in front. She says that is what’s on google maps and it’s googles fault. WHAT ? I have ordered twice a month for 4 yrs at this address and no problem with any other delivery. The house she says the delivered to is one street over. I insisted we still have a problem. I have no pizza. And again insisted it was googles fault. I laughed and she hung up on me. The driver called back and he delivered to the wrong place about 8 blocks away. Offered me a credit on my next order. The person who should have called is the woman who treated me so rudely with an apology. I just asked them to deliver the pizza. And it took another 40 minutes. I will miss this great pizza. I grew up on Girdwood/Panet right next to the first Niakwa Pizza (I think) in the city. It immediately became my families favourite. Every Friday, 1 Medium Pepperoni and one Medium Ham and Mushroom.

Later we moved out of Winnipeg and pizza just wasn’t the same.

15 years later, married moved out to Niverville and boom! There’s a Niakwa! It’s exactly like my childhood! Same sauce, same thin cracker like crust...perfect!

We eventually ended up back in Transcona and I have no problem driving 20 minutes to the Elizabeth location. The pizza is exactly the same as when I was a little kid. The staff are super friendly.

I recommend getting the two x two topping deals and the wings and deep fried mushrooms...

My go to pizza place in the city, specifically this location if possible. I am a semi regular, get my pep/ Italian sausage ( if I'm feeling wild, extra cheese ). The delivery is not the speediest, and with it at busy times, being 1.5 hours, you need to just accept it'll get there. And it always does, hot! I ordered for the last time from here the other day ( moving to the south of the city) and it came in 45 minutes, so hot, it was like it just came out of the oven.
