Mile 1016 Pub — Restaurant in Yukon

Cool little place with typical pub feel. Unfortunately for us the service was less than expected on this day. We walked in to what looked like a full house and was told there was no tables. We decided we would wait and grab a drink at the bar until we can be seated at a proper table in the dining area. Right after telling us there’s no tables, a new group of 3 walk in and are seated right away… I found that to be weird and had to ask again if we were in line for a table? After waiting and being seated we were not given menus or asked about food until I went up to the bar myself and told them I wanted to order. Fortunately, the food was ok and beer was cold. We were visiting Whitehorse in May 2023 and decided to take a drive to Haines Junction, not knowing what would be there at the end. It was a real treat to happen upon this spot. First of all, the view of the mountains is spectacular and will make your dinner taste better, I promise! The service here was friendly and lovely, and the food was excellent. Had some very tasty wings and onion rings, and my friend had what she proclaimed was the best jalapeno cheeseburger she'd ever had, along with a very delicious local beer. Very accommodating during covid restrictions to get some food. Being on a journey from Alaska to the lower 48, it was great to get a flavorful burger when relaxing for the night after a long day of traveling. And I might have gotten the breakfast burger to eat prior to the next day of traveling. Being from the southern US the fried chicken sandwich(burger) was on point and the breakfast burger hit the spot....
