We'd read a book that said there was a restaurant near the salt mines that served a lovely Fish Cerviche...we had to find it. And we did. Årea Docas is located opposite the entrance to the Selinäs Salt Mines. It's right on the beach, protected from the crashing white waves by a little wall.
I found fish carpaccio on the menu, which I took to be the Cerviche referred to in the guide book, and ordered it. My husband ordered the tropical tartar for starter. My carpaccio was tremendous and my hubby's tartar was fabulous too. We had a fish mixed grill and a meat mixed grill for mains. And then a staple of Cape Verdean dessert menus, goats cheese and papaya jam...this was a revelation and absolutely delicious.
We were served by a lovely young waitress, who had exceptionally good English. We spent a lovely afternoon watching the beautiful blue sea, crashing on the rocks, in the gorgeous sunshine eating very nice...
