George Town Yacht Club — Restaurant in George Town

My wife and I went to Georgetown Yacht Club with high expectations based on the reviews. It started out well, drinks orders were taken, then our server visited the table a couple of times then we ordered.

I ordered the Red Conch Chowder as a starter and the chicken Curry. My wife ordered the catch of the day blackened which was the wahoo.

We received our food then she wouldn’t look our way or come to the table. We didn’t know what the problem was.

My wife and I both noticed how cold she had become towards us but was friendly to the other tables and we had no idea what we did.

I ordered a beer and then a different server came to our table with the beer and water. No explanation as to why the other server stopped serving us.

The food was okay, the service was terrible. Unfortunately this restaurant automatically puts on a 15% gratuity as I’d had given less for the service.

We go out for a meal and we don’t expect to be treated like that. They won’t see us again!

My wife and I had dinner tonight at the George Town Yacht Club We had a great time at this restaurant with a large group. Our server, Selina, was amazing - attentive, friendly, and efficient. The food isn’t fancy gourmet, but it’s delicious island fare that’s reasonably priced. Another reason we love this place is that it’s not too far from town, but it’s still off the beaten path. They always have room for 8 to 10 people, and the food quality is great for the price. I had the cracked conch appetizer (it was just as good as a more famous restaurant) and the broiled lobster tail for a main, with truffle mac-n-cheese and garlic kale for sides. It was all delicious! Absolutely delicious! This was a recommendation from my taxi driver and my first stop after arriving on the island. I told him to point me in the direction of the conch and he took me here! I was pleased that the staff was so welcoming and greeted me at the door! My waitress recommended the Cracked Conch and the Conch Fritters, and both were excellent!! And, the jerk mayo sauce was incredible!!!!! I could’ve bottled that to take home! Because I was on a mission and didn’t order anything else, I’ll definitely have to come back to check out the rest of the menu when I take another trip here.
