A taste of the outback in Grand Cayman! Loved the vibe here, it was really a throwback to my time in Australia, complete with the different animal crossing signs (koala crossing is the best), open air, bright and colorful. I was so tempted to get the Aussie burger, complete with beetroot, fried egg and pineapple, a true taste of Australia! I went with the curry instead because it was Wednesday night curry and a pint night. I got the madras curry with chicken, I wanted it spicy, which it wasn’t so the server brought out a hot sauce which helped. The flavors were great, classic yellow curry flavors with coconut milk and tender chicken, which pairs perfectly with the caybrew Mango Tango! My wife got the Jerk Chicken gnocchi, and wow, it was an amazing diff of Rasta pasta, just elevated. The gnocchi were firm but not dense, the creamy basil pesto helped balance the sweet heat of the guava glazed jerk chicken. Honestly, one of the top 5 things we ate on the island. We don’t eat fish but the table next to us was raving about the lion fish tacos, which is a great way to save the reef fish! We didn’t drink anything but the beer, but if you’re a fan of rum, their selection is incredible! Lots of high end bottles, from Havana club to Ron Zacapa, flor de cana and more. The outdoor seating was really nice, right on the water, but the mozzies were relentless, so use some bug spray. Only regret is that there is so much fun stuff to try and we only had 1 night to go. Plenty of kangaroo, meat pies and other...

The restaurant is located on the water and had a nice breeze going on the afternoon we were there. Went for the Lion Fish tacos but they did not have any on that day. Instead I had the ceviche and the mani mani tacos which were both disappointing. The fish used in the ceviche included all the dark bits of the fish which tasted awful. The taco was basic and included the tortilla, some lettuce, the fish and a sauce on top which was overall very tasteless. No added toppings. I get better tacos at the grocery store. The food is pricey for the quality offered. Our waiter must have been having a bad day because he wasn't exactly receptive to questions and didn't seem too keen to serve us (there was another waiter on the floor that was very nice). We initially requested to be seated outside and was told that there was no seating available outside because they were setting up for an evening event. We got seated inside but while there it became obvious that they were setting up on the one side of the deck for the event while customers were seated on the other side of the deck where there was an available table. Very disappointing, I certainly will not...

What a fabulous evening. Arrived about 30 minutes earlier than our reservation time and host was like “no problem” he was quite personable and sat us outside. Table was awesome.. lovely breeze and very relaxing vibe. Our server Rahul came right over and was also quite friendly. He explained some things on the menu and was quite attentive all night. We had the conch/alligator fritters to start. They were very good! My husband did the chicken skewers and I did the tacos. I had 3, one jerk chicken, one with coconut shrimp and one with mahi mahi each one delicious. Hubbys skewer was good too!! We had noted on reservation we were celebrating our anniversary. Totally forgot I had mentioned that when I booked the reservation and it seems like most restaurants dont even look at that.. but not this one. Rahul came out with a lovely sign and 2 brownies covered in chocolate with a sparkler. It was so nice and so thoughtful. We cant wait to come again and highly recommend. It was a very...

Being a Tuesday night we were looking for the perfect place for Taco Tuesday and oh my goodness did we find it! Our waiter was so friendly and did a great job explaining how Taco Tuesday worked. He also did a great job bringing us margaritas and being witty. Between our family of five we had a variety of tacos and every single one of them was amazing. I will be the first to admit that I love meat but my daughter ordered the meatless option which I sampled and it was quite good! Personally I ordered the Jerk Chicken Tacos (which was spiced appropriately, not too hot, just the right amount) the Coconut Prawn Tacos and they were both phenomenal although if I had to choose, I would eat the Coconut Prawn Tacos every single day for the rest of my life. #notexaggerating The outdoor seating is exactly the kind of ambiance you would want on your vacation in Grand Cayman. If you're looking for a place to eat, I would recommend Tukka any night of the week but especially on Taco Tuesday!

Of all the places we ate while a week on Grand Cayman, I'd say we enjoyed Tukka (West) the most. First of all, the location – a little out of the way – made it fun for a visitor to find. Being right next to the water was also nice. The decor inside is wonderful, colorful, playful. The service was great – laid-back and attentive at the same time. And then there was the food, which was delicious, mouth-watering, and filling; the menu, creatively varied instead of standard fare. Our family shared dishes, trying the seafood basket; lobbie poutine (had to try it, being Canadian); bisque; mango smoothies and piñatas; and the jerk chicken/ pesto gnocchi, which was very tasty. Only regret was not going back a second time before we left.
