El sauce restaurant — Restaurant in Cartagena

I'm visiting my family from NY. My dad took me and the family to El sauce restaurant yesterday. When we arrived it was packed even the parking lot was full which to me normally is an indication that the food must be outstanding . We waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The inside is OK. There was no menu, waitress came and gave you the options 100 miles per minute. Then seemed to be bothered when asked to repeat it. My dad, his girlfriend and I ordered a "lomito" they ordered well done, I medium, my wife and my son ordered ribs and my daughter pork chops. We waited about half an hour for our food and in the mean time we were fighting flies that kept landing on the bread or worse on us. There were a lot of flies. At the moment I did not mind much because I imagined the food must be amazing. When the food came the waitress did not ask who ordered med or well done and just set the plates down which she got wrong. As soon as I cut the first piece of meat, I knew this would be a big disappointment. First the knifes were very dull and could barely cut meat, my wife finally suggested to use just the tip of the knife to cut. The lomito was horrible. It had no flavor, no salt and tasted as if it was reheated. The pork chops were as hard as rock, my daughter took two bites after struggling to cut for ten minutes and then just ate french fries (they were good) my son's and wife's ribs were pretty good not great. The salads are big portions but un seasoned. Summary, If you want a tremendous plate of food by sacrificing quality, buffet style, this is for you, otherwise stay away. 2da vez que vamos esta vez coincidió con nuestro 20 aniversario de matrimonio.onio eramos 6 adultos más mi hija de 4 y 1/2 Llegamos después de las 1630 no hubo espera todo bien hasta que nos atendió una señora chilena mayor delgada de pelo teñido que cuando nos sentanos en una mesa con 6 sillas solo owdiamos una extra para mi hija,nos mandó a la sala del frente donde supuestamente había una mesa más grande... eso no ocurrió y otra colaboradora nos envió de regreso, volvimos y con mala cara nos vio nuevamente sentarnos en nuestra mesa original, le pregunte si tenía algún problema (como pidiendo poco menos permiso para sentarnos) y al final dijo que era cosa nuestra no más... en forma despectiva... afortunadamente nos atendió otra persona más joven y muy encantadora y todo resultó muy bien, el lugar nos encanta y eso pesa mucho más que la mala actitud de la señora que no daré su nombre total su jefe sabe quien es , así que si ven a una señora mayor delgada de pelo teñido y que canta todo el rato, (creyendo que crea una atmósfera agradable al ambiente) traten de cambiarse de mesa, de todas formas nosotros encanta el lugar, les recomiendo la cerveza artesanal de la foto muy agradable de...

Siendo lunes igual habia algo de gente, hora de almuerzo. El estacionamiento es pequeño pero tiene y es adecuado, con cuidador y bien demarcado. El ambiente es como estar en living de una casa tipica de la zona, llena de chiches tipicos de campo chileno(siempre hay algo de mal gusto en campo chileno bien kicht). Las mesas bien limpias y manreles de genero de flores bien cuidados, insisto en lo kicht pero que ya resulta familiar, algo asi como estar en casa de la abuela.

La atencion fue muy amable en la entrada, personal saluda amablemente. Me atendieron relativamente rápido y muy amable la persona. Pedi costillar con hueso y ensalada surtida.

Plato enorme y bien preparado, pienso que es pocos lugares en v region que sirven algo tan contundente. El sabor muy agradable, costillar hecho en brasas y medio ahumado, ensalada muy fresca y contundente. Mientras uno espera el plato principal, traen pan caliente, pebre y mantequilla fresca para acompañar, se agradece la buena atención.

Comentario aparte es el camino de acceso desde San Sebastián, es como un camino de Afganistán despues de la guerra. Por favor hagan algo!
