Restaurant Chiringuito — Restaurant in Zapallar

This restaurant is in one of the most beautiful places in chile. But it's a shame that the restaurant is not up too the standers of the town. As a tourist traveling with my girlfriend that is a professional chef we where very disappointed with the service. The waitress Cesar could not explain to us the menu in a proper way or recommend us something even when i speak Spanish. They don't have a menu in English. We waited very long time for the food and it was not worth the time. It wasn't bad but fare from great for the time and the price. What the place needs is learning the staff to be more polite and training of customers service. And would not hurt to get a better chef that makes great...

Not only was the food SO fresh the both times we went but the customer service was phenomenal!!! We ordered “machas” razor clams a la Parmesana as well as Ostiones a la Parmesana. Not overpriced but pricey however good quality and abundant in portions and again couldn’t be any fresher. We had fish nuggets and fried fish, we had salads, rice and French fries. Everything was tasty. The view was spectacular on both occasions. Whiskey sour was tasty however they don’t make it with lemons they make it with a different type of orange. Chiringuito is a classic spot in the stunning bay of Zapallar. It’s simple and unpretentious, with traditional seafood-focused dishes that are About freshness. I had Corvina a la plancha—just fish and some olive oil with a simple salad with abocado and palmito hearts. Before that, some Locos with mayo and lime—nothing fancy, but pure and fresh with some mayo. This isn’t refined cuisine, but it’s excellent if you’re after fresh seafood. Ask the waiter what’s just come in to get the best catch.
