Guolixian Guotie Restaurant — Restaurant in Beijing

So good! My wife and I spent a long morning having me checked out at the Beida dental hospital today, and when we were done, we celebrated the good news that I didn’t need a root canal and could eat by going to get some potstickers. She searched for recommended places on the Chinese social app she uses and found this restaurant; we went and ordered what seemed like a big but suitable meal, and we got a MOUNTAIN of food. Half of what you see here is currently in our fridge, which we will have as leftovers tonight and maybe even for my lunch tomorrow. We especially liked the beef pot stickers but also recommend the pork, the other that we had. The spicy green beans dish is always a favorite of mine, and these were the best I’ve ever had - period. The Kung Pao Chicken was also great. The only thing I liked but didn’t love was the Hawthorne “dish”, but I’m not a big fan of fruit with meats and savory dishes in general. She liked them a lot - but the overly-generous portion went to waste, as we didn’t think they’d keep as leftovers well and we only ate a few each. They were nice to help cool down all the spice of the other food, though, so if you have more than two people (or freaking love hawthorns) then get them as a dessert. Highly recommend!
