Miramar is a popular restaurant located at Hac Sa Beach near the Grand Coloane Resort. This is a large venue, serving up a wide range of mostly Portuguese dishes in a comfortable beachside setting. Opening hours are 11.30-3pm & 6-11pm on weekdays and 11.30-11pm on weekends.
We like Miramar more for their setting than food, finding this a good spot to eat if you find yourself visiting Hac Sa Beach during your time in Macau. There are plenty of outdoor and indoor seating at Miramar and service is friendly. If visiting on weekends, you might want to call for reservation if you want outside seating as this is a popular restaurant of locals.
As for the food, you can find a large selection of traditional Portuguese on offer. Note that prices are towards the high end compared to other Portuguese restaurants around Macau.
During a recent lunch, we tried their Arroz de pato (duck rice) - MOP195, which we found to be ok but not was amongst our favourites around the city. The dish was a bit bland in flavour but was served with a generous portion of duck. Pricy at for what is served and should have tasted better. Not a bad dish but you can do better elsewhere if you want to try Duck Rice during your visit to Macau.
We also ordered the African Chicken which is served with a whole but small grilled chicken with the sauce served on the side. We found the sauce to be a bit spicy and overall very nice. The chicken was a bit scrawny but ended up being a fair portion since they dish up the entire chicken. Similarly, this is not amongst our favourite places for African Chicken in Macau but its not bad (3 of 5) for the amount served.
Overall, Miramar is one of the only proper restaurant options at Hac Sa Beach and is designed to cater to large groups of friends, families and tour groups. They dish out a lot of food here and quickly, which means you are not going to get the attention to detail that you find at some of the smaller, more personal Portuguese restaurants around Macau. However, the atmosphere and setting are very good at Miramar. This is why they are regularly full up even given their large...
Read moreEdit: another server was really nice and listen to our concerns especially regarding the cakes and rectify this. Again, the food is very good and will definitely come back next time we come to Macau.
We ordered many dishes and the food is excellent, however the service is not great. The leitao assado was juicy, tender and the skin was crispy. The seafood rice was salty but has a variety of seafood which makes it quite rich and smooth. The baked crab shell was delicious and came with toasted bread for the spread, and lastly we recommend the lamb dish.
We understand there's limited space on the table for multiple dishes, so when the new dishes came the server didn't ask if she could combine the dishes into a single plate. She just went ahead and slid the toasted bread onto the salad plate. Those two are terrible combinations making the bread soggy. At the end we also ordered dessert. My dad ordered a Charlotte strawberry cake, but they served chocolate cake instead. Their excuse is that it's the same cake and you'll need to purchase the entire cake. These are two entirely different cakes. They simply don't want to cut the cake.
It was a rude service overall. We've came to Miramar whenever we visit Macau from the US, and we are disappointed how much this place...

Pro: lovely romantic environment, good portion of food, lots of parking space
Con: Expensive in relative of the food that was ordered, food slightly too salty, service could have a bit friendlier approach.
This is a lovely place and a bit out of the busy-ness environment of Macau. This can be reached by bus or by car. When we arrived, we enjoyed the seaside environment with a good breeze. However, when stepped to the restaurant, that atmosphere was distorted a little bit as the staff approached with a firm tone. The table bread was Asian-western style rather than western style, and we were offer white wine vinegar instead of balsamic vinegar.
Nevertheless, we sat down and order food recommended in various reviews. The food were served very quickly and the staff were quick to clean the table after each course. In general, food is a bit too salty, but at the acceptable range. The steak required a bit better skills as one side is raw and the other side is well done. I was particularly impressed by the fries as they are freshly made and delicious. The clam is good but a bit too much sauces (if a serving of bread that will come with the dish, that sauce will not be wasted).
Overall, we had a nice time at this restaurant and would recommend...
