Nam Shan Barbecue Area — Restaurant in Islands District

Great area for BBQ and spending time with kids. There are two sections on the right-hand side from the road smaller land plot with fewer grills and tables.

On the left, they have a very clean toilet ( no drinking water, only untreated stream water, which is fine to drink if boiled ). Unfortunately, there are no vedning machines. They have huge space for kids to road around, bbq pits and tables placed within a distance from each other for the privacy. It's blocked with think vegetation from the road, so noise is almost eliminated. You can get there by bus , bus stop is right outside from mui wo, Tai o or tung chung. Or walk from the mui wo ferry pier up the hill via old village and trail or via regular road. Also can get a Blue Taxi only, better install HKtaxi app to call the taxi later, wont find any taxi stand there or available taxis. My daughter loved to run and roam around without any vehicles nearby. Can find some shade. Very lovely place to spend time...

Very accessible by public transport. Great place for barbecue, picnic and camping (camp site nearby). When I was there, I met people who had stayed there for days or even weeks, thanks to the availability of amenities like tap water (don't drink it directly from tap, pleas boil it before), toilet (reasonably clean). Though there is no shops nearby (nearest is 30min away by bus), so how long you can/are willing to stay depends on your supplies and camping equipment.For camping, if you want to have good place (e.g. flat, no potholes, no stones) to set up tent, arrive early to stake out your favorite spot, especially the day before public holiday...
