管记水席 — Restaurant in Luoyang

Visited this place as it was recommended in quite a number of China social media platforms as a restaurant to try in Luoyang for the authentic Luoyang Suixi. Was already pretty crowded when I visited this place. Ground floor was full so I was directed upstairs. Upstairs was also quite full with 2 empty tables and I took one. Ask for recommendations the female staff asked me to try the smallest set meal at 45 RMB for 2 dishes but I won't be satisfied. One of the dishes I wanted to try were in the next set meal at 86 RMB so I ordered that though the serving was meant for 3-4 persons. It felt more complete with 4 dishes. I did say am willing to pay the full amount but could get a smaller portion in order not to waste food, but turned out all were served in standard size. Out of the 4 dishes, I wiped 3 clean. Actually all were pretty good but I left out the last dish which was the noodles half finished as it would be very heavy on the carbs. One dish was meat and mushrooms which tasted good because I loved the mushrooms so much. Then was the fried meat in soup, not very usual and tastes interesting and good. The yancai, specialty of Luoyang was good but I didn't finish it all because it was heavy. Last but not the least, there was this sweet potato in honey cooked like a dessert and was a good sweet ending to the meal. Very good experience at how the locals eat for meals. Interesting and tasty dishes and best of all the portions were big and the prices were cheap. Would strongly recommend a visit to this...
