This is the premier restaurant located in the Ordos Grassland Park.
We paid RMB298 for lunch which included dressing up as Mongolian regents and princesses, Zha Ma Yan (Grand Banquet) and performances. Before you enter the banquet hall, you must drink a bowl of Ma Nai Jiu (Horse Milk Wine). Good way to get you into a party mood.
In hindsight, it was a mistake to wear their Mongolian costumes in summer cause it’s so warm in summer. Food spread was elaborate but taste was quite mediocre. The roasted goat was okay, not as gamey as I expected.
The performance was not one of the best I have seen but it’s entertainment whilst you dine. Towards the end, they started to play games where diners are asked to outbid each other in terms of glass of Baijiu (Chinese spirits) that they would drink in order to get a gold card which allows unlimited entries into the park for one year. Read more패키지투어 3일차 일정으로 방문한 오르도스 대초원 내 몽골전통식당 ‘통양’. 1인당 40불이라는 옵션가에 기대가 컸지만, 솔직히 음식은 기대 이하였습니다.
특히 양고기 특유의 잡내가 강해 입맛에 맞지 않았고, 전체적으로 음식 퀄리티가 아쉬웠습니다.
공연으로는 오르도스 전통 결혼식을 재현한 무대가 있었는데, 규모는 크지 않았지만 몽골인의 생활 방식과 문화, 혼례 절차를 짜임새 있게 보여준 점은 인상적이었습니다.
다만, 테이블 간격이 너무 좁아 바로 옆 중국인 단체 관광객과 거의 붙어 앉다시피 했고, 큰 소리로 떠들거나 예의 없는 행동이 이어져 식사 내내 불쾌감이 들었습니다.
개인적으로 다시 방문하고 싶은 곳은 아니며, 추천하기도...
