Oriental Restaurant and Bar is an open-air beachfront restaurant on Sai Wan Beach in the heart of the Sai Kung East Country Park. They keep things rather simple, offering up a small selection of rice and noodle dishes with basic veg, meat and egg ingredients. A similar short drink list is available. We had a quick lunch at Oriental Restaurant during our recent hike of the MacLehose Stage 2 trail. Their Yang Chow fried rice and iced lemon tea were both ok. A bit high priced for what is served but this is a secluded beach cafe in the middle of nowhere so you can't really expect that much on the quality front, rice serving size was fair. Much more impressive than the food are the actual views of the beautiful Sai Wan Beach, just in front of the restaurant. Note: Cash payments only at Oriental Restaurant and Bar.

Been Sai Wan many times interestingly very very first time to eat at this seaside restaurant. The staff are polite. Surprisingly the food is good. The noodles, how do I say, given the perfect location and the seaview, one wouldn't have much expectation on the food quality, but they pan fried the sausage, the noodles are al dente and they have fresh veggie, cut spring onion and fried garlic on the noodles! The Singaporean fried rice noodles are also very good, rich in ingredients and nicely fried. It is a bit pricy but generally a very nice dining experience.

Be very careful.. total thieves! They wanted to charge us 1800 HKD for the boat to go back to Sai Kung Pier instead of the normal price of 150 HKD per person or a total of 750 HKD.. he then proceeded to laugh and told us to hike back and find a taxi. Which we did and it costs us 130 HKD so too bad for the shop.. Karma works all the time.
