Hong Kong style cafe, which is called Cha Chaan Tang in Cantonese, where people go for a quick bite for breakfast , lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and supple. Typical local food (Chinese and western) are served either in the form of set menus or a la carte. Hong Kong Day is a chain cha chaan tang owned by the Maxim Group which is one of the larger restaurant operators in Hong Kong. I visited their Ma On Shan outlet for breakfast but I did not go for the usual breakfast set which comes with some of the following: fried eggs, toast, drink, ham, sausage, fried fish fillet, noodle soup, etc. The more popular drinks would be HK style milk tea, coffee, milk tea + coffee, lemon tea, etc. I had a cup of milk tea with condensed milk, 2 pieces of turnip cakes and a coconut tart which are less popular orders. They have fair sized seating areas and offer take-away and delivery if you prefer to eat from within the comfort of your office, home or hotel.
The menu is typical Cantonese and local dishes that are reasonably priced. I recently ordered Yang Chow Fried Rice that was a fair portion for the price charged and tasted just fine. There were a handful of prawns and the the rice was seasoned and stir fired nicely. Would happily order again as a side item for a larger meal or just a quick light lunch.
