Located in Tai Po, Le Vow delights with Cantonese fare served alongside a visually appealing European-style restaurant setting. Combining tradition and creativity, it satisfies visually and gastronomically with creative dim sum and delicacies enjoyed with lakefront scenery.

➤ 蝦濃湯花枝釀遼參, $288/pc (8/10) 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙖 𝙘𝙪𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙬/ 𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙣 𝙟𝙪𝙨 The stuffed sea cucumber, generously sized, reveals a tender interior containing cuttlefish mousse of delicate meatiness. Encased in prawn jus that achieved a perfect balance, bringing out each premium ingredient's character through enhancement without overpowering the whole.

➤ 松露醬爆花尾躉球, $328 (7.5/10) 𝙒𝙤𝙠-𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙬/ 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙡𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙪𝙘𝙚 The dish presents delicate flaky fillets of fresh fish, accompanied by tender asparagus and broccoli, all basking in an earthy and unctuous truffle sauce. Each bite brings the distinct flavors together in perfect balance, highlighting the sea and earth.

➤ 京蔥孜然五香小羊肉, $268 (7/10) 𝙎𝙩𝙞𝙧-𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙗 𝙬/ 𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 The stir-fried lamb bursts with flavor, spiced with hearty cumin and crisp scallion, tender morsels envelope the palate in a deep, lingering heat that excites the appetite. While intensely flavored on its own, the robust meat truly comes into its own when enjoyed alongside rice.

➤ 琥珀合桃松露百合蘆筍靈芝菇, $228 (7.5/10) 𝙎𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙚́𝙚𝙙 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙣𝙪𝙩, 𝙖𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙨, 𝙡𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙗𝙪𝙡𝙗, 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙬/ 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙡𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙪𝙘𝙚 The medley presents earthy caramelized flavors blended into harmony with a light truffle sauce. A delicate blend of textures and tastes that elevates seasonal vegetables into a symphony for both...

Place closed a long time, pond was sucked dry, little egrets were gone, sad site for awhile. The old barn type restaurant was remodel, rebuilt, modernised….. one day I was travelling north bound & saw the pond returned, barn turned into a nice white doom building, nice, except no birds. I decided to see the transformation so I went online reserved table for 2, dinner! Corkage was 250, so I ordered from menu. Arrived, outer structure & layouts was same as before, but renovated, all white, great lightings, clean, elegant, like it! I picked the side that serve Chinese, just my mood that evening. Greeted by a nice receptionist, nice high ceiling, airy, elegant corridor lead into a huge doom shape room size of a hall. Tranquil, romantic, white table cloth like a French restaurant. Manager nicely highlighted the menu, I picked 3 dishes that can reflect chef’s skill. Crispy chicken, sweet & sour Ibérica pork & dried scallop Enoki Mushroom Braised Pea Sprouts. All 3 dishes were beautifully prepared, great taste, pricier than most Chinese restaurant, but worth it, fine cuisine! Pinot noir was ok to pair, great evening! Will spread the words & revisit, oh say hi to a beautiful cat if you see it...

When I arrived, they said I had ordered a set meal, so I requested to check the WhatsApp records. However, the records had no evidence indicating that I had requested a set meal. The receptionist insisted that I should have the set meal, stating that the chef had already prepared it. I firmly insisted that I didn't want it and caused a commotion. Two dishes were missing from the order, and another two dishes were ordered only to be told later that they were sold out. I noticed the waiters speaking in low voices, and when they saw me looking at them, they came over to ask if I had ordered a certain dish. Throughout the entire time, I waited for a long time before the food was served. The oyster pot and all the dishes were consumed, and it took 20 minutes for them to arrive, even the rice was finished. Then, when it was time to pay, several credit card machines were...

Really, all around top star. Located at the former Little Egret, Le Vow is newly revamped and has a very nice venue with fantastic view of the lake. There are two restaurants in this site - and I think Le Vow is better than its western food counterpart Billow next door. Even for the common dishes that we ordered, it does come out tasting better than the good restaurants in Hong Kong. I loved their sweet and sour pork. You must book for both lunch and dinner, there are quiet days during the week (like last night when we went, which was a Monday) but sometimes they do get fully reserved for events. Great ambiance and great food and could not ask for more. On the pricey end but perfect for special occasions.
