One of the most famous restaurants in Zhong Shan City, it’s been around for more than 20 years. Maybe even longer than that.
Reservations definitely required as evident from the hordes without reservations milling around the front desk looking for a table. We managed to get ourselves a room fortunately because we booked a week in advance.
The dishes here are definitely Zhong Shan or Shi Qi (old name of Zhong Shan City before it was renamed in honour of Sun Yat Sen). Must order their deep fried pigeons, grass carp fishballs with the green clam sauce (The sauce is made from the secretions of clams!) The abalone and crunchy grass carp salad is also a specialty. Grass carps are fed with edamame beans to ensure their flesh is crunchy when cooked.
