The food at Tierra Roja is a true pleasure to eat. It is very experimental Spanish food; definitely the best paella and tapas in all of Cundinamarca - maybe even all of Colombia. It has a lot of Spanish delicacies, but the presentation is exquisite, the service is excellent; all in all it is a very interesting experience. The prices are in the higher end of Colombian prices, but being either American or European it is normal prices for a good restaurant. They have a wide selection of Spanish wines, cheeses and ham. The sangría is NOT to be underestimated: it's very sweet and not traditionally Spanish, but it has a great and rather sweet taste; and it is POWERFUL. The items on the menu are extraordinary; and the chef, Cesar, and his wife, always have an interesting experiment for you to try. The place is small and located at Vía Guaymaral entering Chía: it doesn't look like anything special coming from the outside. But in this case you should definitely NOT judge a book by its cover! I recommend STRONGLY going here; it is some of the best food you will ever have...

Since we moved to Chia, we have driven past a cosy looking restaurant (Tierra Roja) several times. We recently went there for dinner and we would like to share this experience.
Tierra Roja is an excellent Spanish restaurant with a Colombian touch which matches up very well with the best Spanish restaurants around the world. The kitchen uses only fresh and authentic ingredients and the cooking is done - almost home-made - upon ordering.
Our experience was absolutely indescribable. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself makes the experience that much better. We feel comfortable, the people are lovely and make you feel home and tended to.
Cesar, Chef and owner is a wonderful host and give an enthusiastic explanation about all the dishes on the menu.
His creations as the traditional dishes are great, made with excellent ingredients and a touch of a master!
He amazes us with a sequence of 7 tapas that built up in a crescendo of flavours and textures. And combined with a home-made excellent Sangria.
It is a place worthy to drive...
Read moreI absolutely love this place, one of those hidden gems in the Bogotá area. It is a recommended stop even if you are just visiting. Cesar the cook is a lovely guy, and his wife Marlen is the best host you can imagine. A nice place for tapas and the best Paella you can imagine.
The attention por into the service is increíble, adding a lot of value to the whole experience.
It is a lovely place, with a good atmosphere and the best Mediterranean food in town, hell even the country!
Although the pricing is at the higher end of the spectrum, it's worth every hard-owned...
