Cafe El Retiro — Restaurant in Barrantes

We had a bit of a difficult time finding the place, but were happy we persevered. I dont care for crepes or empanadas much, but their gallo pinto including homemade tortilla was brillant; elegantly arranged as well as delicious. It was fun to hang out in the antique shop while waiting. The staff were nice to chat with. Get the lemonade with lavender as it was delicious. Next time i plan on coffee from their extensive menu and sampling some of their lovely cakes. You should try...

Came here for breakfast and coffee. Very cute coffee shop with great ambience. The shop inside is fun to take a walk around and look at some of their interesting/cool vintage decor for sale. The coffee and breakfast was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful.
