Salón El Higuerón — Restaurant in Cóbano

Beware! Bar full of locals drew us in. Food was good service was good. That being said the Owner swindled us out of $$$. Bill was 16 mil, we paid with a $20 us bill and 10 mil colones which currently is a little over 21 mil with exchange rates. Owner returned to table telling us we were roughly 2 mil short. The situation dictated that we were forced to oblige. Sure it's only $10 bucks or so that we were taken for but it surely leaves a bad taste in our mouths in a town that was so relaxing and everyone else was so kind and accommodating, also the first experience of this kind on a 2 week trip. He should be ashamed of himself. Would recommend eating at panderia cabuya for breakfast or soda...

We came here on a recommendation from our Air bnb host. I was looking for the right moment to propose to my partner. After a perfect day, the opportunity presented itself here by a beautiful flowering tree in a private garden. The waitress was incredible, taking great pictures and videos even though she was also surprised.

I'd say 3,5 on this one. Pizza was thin crust, which is what I like and quite good. I would absolutely order it again. If you want a thick crust, I would discuss with the server.

The live band was simple, but good. Lots of dancing and a fun crowd. They did limit how many people could come in (due to Covid, I assume).
