I don’t know what this previous poster was talking about but this restaurent is excellent if you are visiting the Rincon de la Vieja park or staying at Hacienda Guachipelin but don’t want to eat anymore at the restaurant as there isn’t anything for almost 20 km.
Came at 1800 since we stopped earlier and they said they close at 1900 on Sundays. Service was friendly, the waitress was a bit shy! We ordered the beef casado (4800 colones/$8, same price as the one down the road, cheaper than the hotel, but more expensive than in town... if you want to drive another 20 minutes to save 2000 colones) and the gallo con pollo. They came out very quickly after a free bowl of carrot soup (excellent!!) They were more refined than your normal soda and tastes great. good sized portions. Excellent plaintains!!
We were offered free cake at the end at no charge.
