Restaurante Peppers Grill is a standout find in Herradura—just across the road and a short block toward the water from the Los Sueños entrance. It’s part of the Paradise Bay Boutique Hotel, but you don’t need to be a guest to enjoy it.
The restaurant is spotless and well-designed, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. It’s about two years old and feels fresh without being sterile. Both indoor and outdoor seating available and both have nice ambiance. A few pieces of art and pleasant decor make the place lovely.
Service was excellent. We were looked after by Helmer (from Limón), who was gracious, attentive, and clearly knows hospitality. He started us off with a warm, locally-made roll—on the house—and guided us through the menu.
We ordered the Caribbean chicken and the grilled mahi mahi. Both were plated with intention and served with distinctly Caribbean accents. The mahi mahi was exceptional—fresh, perfectly cooked, paired with seasoned potatoes, asparagus, and house sauces that added subtle flavor without overwhelming the fish. The Caribbean chicken was tender, served with traditional rice and beans (not gallo pinto), and a salad of local greens that was simple but crisp and fresh.
We spend a fair bit of time in Herradura, but this was our first visit to Peppers Grill. It won’t be our last (edit - came back for breakfast). It’s a quiet, well-run place with excellent food and thoughtful service—worth seeking out whether you're staying nearby or just...
Read moreThis restaurant is less than 100m from the Los Sueños entrance and features indoors and outdoors seating. We had dinner with very high expectations based on previous reviews and ratings. I had seabass with rice and beans accompanied with side salad, others in the party had shrimps with rice and panko crusted mahi mahi as main courses. Whilst these were okay, the seabass was a huge disappointment, overcooked, dry and tasteless despite some sauce. Beans and rice was oily and side salad consisted mainly of lettuce and tomatoes with some blueberries. Full points for service as one of the main courses was replaced at our request and service provided by Reychel was attentive...

The menu offers a wide variety of options, and every one we tried was delicious. I especially highlight the snapper, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The best cocktails were the apple mojito and the hibiscus gin and tonic, both extremely refreshing. The staff was friendly, especially Deliana's attention, and a very polite young man prepared the cocktails at our table. It was incredible, making our visit a very pleasant experience. Without a doubt, the best restaurant in Herradura, better than the Marriott where...
