Wish I could give 4.5 stars.

We had great service by the owners. They were kind and friendly.

We both ordered one of my favorite fruit drinks, guanabana (Sour Sop). It was yummy and wasn’t overly sweetened which I appreciated.

My husband started with a ceviche that he felt wasn’t bad but wasn’t as fresh as it could have been. We recognize that could be due to the fact we are in the mountains and not near the ocean.

He then had a whole friend red snapper with patacones (double fried green plantains) and salad. He thought this dish was excellent. He thought the fish had good flavor and was cooked well. The only change he would have made was to add a little sauce to it.

I started with patacones and refried beans. Unfortunately the patacones were a little too thick so they didn’t get fried all the way to the middle and they lacked salt. They were totally edible but were not a highlight of the meal.

I had a vegetarian Peruvian fried rice which was a huge portion and way more than I could eat but it had a good amount of veggies in it and good flavor. Definitely would eat it again.

I also tried the traditional Peruvian dessert not truly knowing what it was and it turned out that I didn’t love it, but at least I tried it.

All and all our main meals were great and we could happily recommend this restaurant to those in the area. Added bonus they have a cute small dog named Maggie who waddles around and the restaurant is both dog and...

TOURISTS SHOULD AVOID EATING HERE.

I really wanted to leave a good review of this place. But I currently have food poisoning from eating here. And the owner added 5000 colones to each of our bills. Me and my friend paid it to avoid conflict, but the owner kept my other friends at the counter for 30 minutes arguing about his action to over charge us.

This is the first and only time this happened to me on my trip in Costa Rica.

TO THE OWNER: We were great patrons, I even helped to clear the table because our server was so busy. We thanked the kitchen personally, and told directly about how great our server was. This is wrong. It was by far and away my most expensive meal on my trip. You are the only person who did this to me in a month of travelling the country. What does this say about you?

Our server was really great! The food tasted good, but as I said. I am now bed ridden with food...

Mejillones al ajillo! El aji amarillo es el gusto mas saborita en la vida! We ordered both the seafood and the fish ceviche as well as the muscles in garlic. The ceviche was fantastic and the muscles in garlic was literally good to the last drop. I drank all the sauce out of every muscle shell from my daughter's dish and soaked up any remaining drops with the rice and the perfectly cooked vegetables. The adult beverages were delicious, all four different cocktails. Rafael and Vicki offer a complete menu of delicious items from which to choose. Their service is excellent and the prices worth the quality of the food. I wouldn't hesitate to drive back across Arenal to enjoy...

Is unfortunate to see Americans like Jordan who post an inaccurate review about this place. I'm an American and was at this restaurant during the incident. Mr. Jordan was just trying to get a free meal for him and his party, complaining for no reason and treating the staff and owner like animals. The staff was very polite and attentive to Mr. Jordan and his party. You can check my previous reviews and see I have no affiliation to this establishment. Just pure gratitude to the staff, chefs and owner who treated us like family and gave us the best Peruvian food in town. Come to this place and enjoy authentic Peruvian food.
