Sharky’s Shack — Restaurant in Parrita

Eat here! In two weeks of traveling through Peru and Costa Rica, we had one of our very best meals at Sharky's. The description is not accurate - I would not call it fast food (although the service is fantastic and faster than anywhere we've eaten in CR). We ordered the fish tacos, shrimp tacos, mushroom Swiss burger, BBQ chicken burger, mac & cheese with bacon, onion rings and a fruit smoothie and EVERY SINGLE item was perfect! I'm very picky about fish and my life's goal is to find the world's best fish tacos and these are definitely top 3! The owner Carlos is amazing and has put so much love into his restaurant. He goes fishing every morning to catch whatever fish he'll be serving that day!! So it's fresh and incredibly delicious! Best restaurant onion rings I've ever had. Amazing homemade sauces. My kids never finish their meals and they both inhaled every bite of their burgers. AND the place is beautifully decorated with surfing and "Jaws" decor, it's very clean (including the restroom) and the music is great. Our family of four had dinner here the other night. From the moment we walked in, we knew we’d have a great time! Service was warm and friendly and the food was so good! We especially loved the fish tacos and the Philly cheesesteak burger! They also had a small selection of wine and beer, which was really nice. We would definitely come back again when we are in the area!!

Finally though, I have to commend the owner, Carlos. He came to check on us throughout our meal and made sure we always had what we needed. At the end of the night, it was pouring, and we were unable to find a cab. We had about a half mile walk back to our condo, and when Carlos heard our conundrum, he graciously offered to drive us home! I’ve never experienced service like that before. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was super friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was very clean, inviting, and comfortable. We had fish & chips and a fish burger made with fish the owner had just caught himself that morning. It was my son's favorite fish & chips ever, and he's pretty particular. It was so fresh and cooked to perfection. My family reported that the applewood bacon burger and swiss mushroom burger (both on fresh brioche buns) were the best they'd had in Costa Rica, and possibly ever. The food was also very reasonably priced, especially for the quality. The owner was so welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the food arrived quickly. The atmosphere was a beachy coastal surf vibe and very clean. It's rare a restaurant hits so many high notes but Sharky's definitely did.
