La Fonda Azteca is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Costa Rica. Excellent attention, great value for the food quality and nice Mexican ambience. Their Birria dish is our favorite birria. Vollkommen überbewertet, dies trifft es wohl am besten. Fangen wir doch bei den netten beiden Damen am Eingang an, mehr oder weniger lustlos versuchen sie die wenigen Laufkunden ins Restaurant zu locken, ohne dafür mehr Energie als nur irgendwie nötig aufzuwenden. Hat man sich dann tatsächlich platziert (weil man leider den positiven Bewertungen geglaubt hat) wartet man zunächst vergeblich auf eine Speisekarte, die Damen sind lieber mit quatschen beschäftigt. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich und klingt sehr gut, nur leider schmeckt es nach nichts. Die Tacos waren vollkommen geschmacksneutral und trocken, hätten die Damen zwischendurch mal gefragt dann hätten sie vielleicht noch einen Dip verkaufen können, damit es etwas besser schmeckt. Haben sie nicht, waren ja mit quatschen beschäftigt. So ließen wir einen Teil des Essens unberührt und sind auch kurzfristig nach der Bezahlung wieder gegangen. Einzig der Preis der Rechnung war in Ordnung, tröstet jedoch nicht über dieses langweilige Essen hinweg.

El lugar está bueno, sabe bien la comida, el rango del precio está 4/5, por lo que es un poco más caro de lo normal en costa Rica. Poseen bastantes platillos típicos de México, cazuelas de queso fundido, sopas aztecas, cortes de carne, tacos y más, la página tiene el menú con los precios. Los meseros muy atentos, con productos de limpieza como alcohol en gel, servilletas y demás. La comida la sirve relativamente rápido, y tienen promociones ciertos días de la semana. Yo pedí para 2, entrada, sopa, un burrito, una gringa y refrescos, rondando los 40 mil colones. Siento que esta aceptable pero otros lugares hay más barato y mejor sabor a mi gusto. Igual por lo demás todo bien. Lo de la foto es una gringa.
