MAGICAL. 180° Views!! Best EVENING restaurant in the city. Buffet style place (small, but great food e anyone lived). The view is everything! But also a delightful cultural experience! The dancers/dinner show was enchanting, and “limbo” dance was fun for the kids & couples both! We found out the owner is almost always on-site, owned it for 40yrs(!), and will walk u thru the mini-museum of artifacts he has collected over time, and tell you all about the culture of you’d like, but it’s not mandatory.

Absolutely ENCHANTING restaurant! (Open-air restaurant but all eating areas COVERED so even if it rains, it’s not a problem.)

Had a variety of seating options for all ages/ size groups, so works great for romantic anniversaries/honeymooners/couples, or biz meetings, or children’s groups all welcome; separated well so noise is no bother.

*Take only a SUV or V8/Van like an UberXL to get there (VERY steep hills cars will have difficulty).

*Do not wear pointy heels; must be able to walk stone pathway/stone stairs to access their...

The view is amazing . But that's it. When we arrived, the "hostess" who is the supposed face of "hospitality" checked us out, head to toe, and sat us in the furthest place from the main floor that she could find. There were tables available on the main floor, and on the secondary floor but no, she took us to were the paint was falling off the walls, there were spider webs and the tables were plastic. I assumed that everything was reserved upstairs so we sat down, ordered drinks and an appetizer (fried cheese cubes). The view is not first class either there, you see the messy hose lying around for example.

The presentation of the food, like that of the place, was bad. A deep white bowl with 6 cubes, like when you make them at home. To eat them, 2 sets of cutlery and ONE PLATE. I don't know if the other person had to eat in the air or they assumed one used the bowl.

The chaos of the matter was that the margarita was served in PLASTIC not glass. I had never been served in a plastic cup since I was 3. I asked why the plastic was used (because I thought, being SO far from the kitchen, with so many steps and descents, it was surely for safety reasons so the waiters didn't cut themselves) and they told me that this was an administrative decision and I'm not the first to complain about it. Sp basically, it's because they're cheap and the menu prices are not.

In that hour I was there, I was treated like a 3rd class citizen, so we paid the check and left. When speaking with the manager, nothing more was said than "sorry for the experience and come back soon."

Taking the time to translate to english and Spanish should say enough.

YES! I'm not entirely sure what the 3 star reviews are about.....I will tell you how we saw it: Incredible setting - where can you get that view of San Jose? Few restaurants in the world offer a setting like this. And RUSTIC, not just some 5-star lodge. Incredible food - Don Roberto was right there in the kitchen and as a group we walked right in where they were cooking and served ourselves. ENDLESS options, not sure if that's just for groups, or public. Either way, mouthwatering everything. Total blast - I saw someone saying "looks like it's mainly for groups." I guess, i can't speak to that. But we had 48 and our high school kids loved the dancing, etc. Yes it was basic, but we weren't there for "Dancing with the Stars". It was a cultural experience, that's it. Period.

After dinner and show they led our group to a private terrace overlooking City for a 30 minute dance party with a DJ - ever had that? Didn't think so. Service, ambiance,...
