The ambiance is fantastic, creating an immersive connection with nature that perfectly complements the essence of Costa Rican ecotourism. The chef, a young and passionate talent, pours so much love and creativity into each dish. The fusion of flavors is simply exceptional, taking traditional cuisine to new heights. It's clear that he genuinely cares about the quality and presentation of the food.
Service at Restaurante Feroz is notably attentive. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure you feel welcomed and well-cared-for throughout your visit. The chef even makes a point to come out and engage with guests, checking in to see if everything is satisfactory. Their commitment to accommodating dietary restrictions is impressive; they made a special effort to create dishes for a vegetarian in our party without hesitation. This level of inclusion and respect for individual preferences sets Feroz apart from typical restaurants.

Read moreWe dined here for our anniversary dinner. The food was very very salty so be sure to tell them to ease off if you order the corn ribs or the asparagus (they tent to use whole rocks of salt on the veg instead of flakes). The atmosphere was great. It was quite cool so they had blankets for everyone on the chairs which was a nice touch. They also had heaters and a fire pit. The mint lemonade is brilliant. Staff were absolutely fantastic. Our servers were attentive and made a great recommendation on the steak. I am allergic to walnuts and was assured that there were none in the praline on the burrata, but when it came there was so I couldn’t eat it. Overall the food wasn’t up to the hype in my opinion, but then again I find it very hard to find an excellent restaurant in San Jose. The...
Read moreAlmuerzo Agosto 2, 2024.
A LIVE WORM was found in the salad, and one of us had to spit it out. This obviously ruined the birthday we were celebrating. They brought a dish to replace it, and the meat was raw. One expects these EXPENSIVE places to have impeccable quality control, but no. What they don't understand is that people don't go to these places for the food (because there are others) but for the EXPERIENCE. The worst part is they offered a dessert to "make up" when the right thing would have been not to charge a cent for the table where they ruined the experience for us… in the end, I paid with a 15% discount (for a table of 6 people, it's quite a bit). I wasn't looking for a discount because I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED TO PAY THE FULL BILL WITHOUT THE WORM. But paying that, we still felt ripped off because the experience was completely ruined. So if you go to this place and find a worm in your food… you will pay 85% (plus taxes and service) even if everyone leaves...
