Bar Allan — Restaurant in San Rafael

Bar Allan had a great menu, a nice U formed bar and excellent service three years ago. Now the bar is gone and the space filled with more tables. The problem this evening was that the great churrasco I have had here at earlier visit is gone from the menu. The inexperienced young male waiter managed to deliver the wrong plates to me and my friend with no shown embarrassment or willingness to correct the problem. There is no wine list and when asking for wines make sure to ask for the prices. They charged 19000 colones for a simple bottle of Frontera Merlot and weird enough it appears as “PLATO M” on the final bill. When asking about this peculiar item we got only strange nonsense answers back. This is the perfect way of scaring away customers. Well done indeed! I will never again visit this place, which used to be one on of my favorite laid back restaurants/pubs in San Rafael. There are three better alternatives with much better menu and customer service only one to two...

Muy bueno, probamos el chifrijo y un lomito a la jalapeña. El chifrijo es pequeño pero llena bastante, lleva aguacate y le ponen bastante chicharrón. También ponen aparte una sala como de tomate un poco dulce que le da un toque diferente al chifrijo. El lomito jalapeño tenía un tamaño regular, la carne estaba muy suave. La salsa se podía pedir blanca, roja u "oscura" que fue la que pedimos la cual tenía pimienta entera y poco picante tal y como lo ordenamos. La Heineken que tenían es holandesa, eso es un punto a favor. La atención fue muy buena y el lugar es agradable. El parqueo es en la calle pero es bastante tranquilo. En general me pareció bueno y de fijo volvería para probar más comida y tomarme...

El servicio al cliente es excelente, te atienden muy rápido, la comida es deliciosa con precios accesibles, todos los jueves hay musica en vivo y se puede perfectamente conversar sin tanto ruido, lo único es que el lugar es un poco pequeño así que se llena rápido las mesas y toca en la barra pero igual es un lugar muy ameno para ir con amigos o la pareja....
