We stayed at Hotel Ladera because of the next trip white water rafting trip. We have zero expectation and was going to find an about-the-average review restaurant in town. Luckily, we decided to eat at where we stayed.
The dinner is comparable to many gourmet/upscale restaurants with beautiful presentation (didn’t expcet this in a small town/not big tourist spot). We listened to the owner Angela's suggestion and ordered the mushroom beef as appetizer and Tomahawk cut steak as entree to share. Both are so delicious.
Many restaurants in Costa Rica have basic wine menu due to the tropical weather/storage. Celler Ladera has a wall of wines for us to choose from, one of the wine distributors was happened to be there to tell us about the wine/let us try some wines too.
When I like about most of this place is family own business and you really feel friendly/homey vibe and Angela's family treated us like we're part of them. Everyone came out said hi to us and tried to got to know us.

Angela is a great host that has travelled the world and brought ideas back home and combines them with local Costa...
