I would like to give my honest opinion about this place to explain how we were treated and warn fellow travellers who would like to visit it convinced by all the positive reviews. First of all, let me tell you that the food was really good. We ordered a pizza which was fresh, innovative, with a decent amount of shrimp. We ate it with pleasure. Unfortunately, this is is where the positive aspects of our visit end. We felt completely ignored from the very beginning - at first we waited for about 20 minutes to order beverages. Then we got our drinks, drank them entirely and still, nobody was at our table with the food menu. The lady who was serving us came after 40 more minutes of waiting (which was already a full hour!) and she only said "alright, now I can tell you what we have". Forget about "I'm sorry to keep you waiting". It looked like her friends were sitting at the table next to ours and they were her absolute priority. As there was no paper menu, we were told what we can order. Luckily I speak Spanish as she did not even consider that my partner did not speak it and could not understand a word. Since we were really hungry, we ordered a pizza and waited for another 75 minutes - it gives a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes of JUST waiting time. When it came to paying, we were not even given a bill, nothing. The lady just approached us and told how much she wanted us to pay which seemed to be really unusual, more like a scam than a respected restaurant. Overall, I would have definitely picked a different place - one that maybe serves less tasty food but also offers respect. Really disappointing and frankly...
Read moreExpress del Pacifico is an unexpected high-end culinary experience in a beach-neighborhood location. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Nothing on the exterior gives a hint of what you will experience when your order arrives. If it weren't for the reviews posted online by others, we probably wouldn't have known about it. On the evening of our visit, our host Daniel was working the establishment by himself, with no additional support. He did an outstanding job at taking orders, cooking the food, and delivering to the table! Our group had the kabobs, salads, weinerschnitzel, and a pizza. All excellent. They even have a ping pong table for you to use while you wait for your...
Read moreThis was an amazing experience. Delicious food: You don't really know what you're going to get from one week to the next because it's dependent on what's available locally (so no written menu, but everything is fresh). If you're able to get the raw tuna appetizer, do it!
A few notes for tourists: There is no written menu, and there isn't an itemized bill, they let you know the cost at the end. It's different, but the costs are more than fair for the quality. We paid apx $50 for a sizeable filet mignon entree (with salad) and tuna appetizer with wine. You need a reservation This is a smaller space, with a very small staff, so it's improbable that you'll be seated at all...
