This was a cute little spot to go to. However, we disliked that the microwave was being used for our food. I also ordered a mojito but i'm not even sure if there was alcohol in it because it sure did not taste like it. I also asked the gentlemen what kind of cheese they had and if it was cheese from a cow because I was not familiar with the one he was mentioning and he looked at me kinda weird like if cheese only came from cows. I usually stay away from cow dairy as I tend to be allergic and I didn't like that when I asked I was looked at weird. Other than that, if you want to have a cute little experience in a restaurant that looks like some ones home, don't care about the microwave issue or don't drink alcohol, then try this place. It sort of prepared us for the journey. The food and friendliness did not disappoint. We started with a margarita and several beers. Then we moved on to the chicken tatuya and chicken curry. The tatuya was a corn pita that was fantastic. The curry was made to your “heat” desire. We finished with a banana crepe smothered in chocolate and vanilla ice cream.    Read moreWe visited for lunch while staying near Playa Avellana and so glad we had the opportunity to meet the chef, Aldi, who made us feel right at home and so welcomed. He has created several variations of Tayuyá, a regional dish to Guanacaste similar to a stuffed pita, but with a corn tortilla, filled with options like shredded meats, plantains, cheese and vegetables and then grilled. Aldi explained he had fond memories eating Tayuyá with his abuelos.. some variations he named for them. He also makes really good cocktails… the watermelon mojito with fresh blended watermelon and mint was perfect for the hot afternoon.
