Tamarine — Restaurant in Tamarindo

I never right reviews but we had such a horrible experience that it was necessary to share. We had a reservation and yet they required us to order our food before arriving at the restaurant. When we arrived the host was extremely rude and rushed us in saying that if we didn’t hurry, we would lose our reservation. When we went inside it was completed empty! One of our friends arrived late and they got mad and said that 1 extra person wasn’t on the reservation. They gave us 1 glass of water each and never brought refills. The server was also in a horrible mood and at the end we waited 30 minutes for them to split our bill which they were not able to do so we had to split everything evenly between the guests at our table. We dined here on a Wednesday night, with no reservations and we were seated promptly. We enjoyed our dinner very much, we found the food to be very good. Service was attentive and cordial. As the other restaurants, Tamarine shares the Hacienda style decor. The menu has a good variety of dishes of around Asia. Our starter, the Gyoza, freshly prepared. My main course, the Kung Pao Chicken, what a great choice! Very well prepared, well balance flavors! My dining companion had the Pad Thai, he was very happy with his selection. Save your money and time and don't go here. I ordered the top reccomended dish, Pad Thai. It did not have peanut sauce and instead was tomato based. It tasted terrible but my waiter never came back to check so I just skipped dinner. I ordered a lychee martini but it was overpowered by cranberry juice (?!) and a maraschino cherry. Then I finished with creme brulee that was more of a custard and was not cooked with fire or charred at all. Overall, it was a very disappointing dinner experience and was very overpriced at almost $30 just for the pad Thai.
