All those who want to eat well, let them go to this beautiful tavern. Tavern Grill Campo is located next to the football field in Štinjan, in a small natural paradise. In a nice and quiet place. For complete relaxation. The atmosphere is great, to which the great staff contributes. The tavern is extraordinarily harmoniously decorated, with a touch of the old but also the new. The chef’s cooking skills completely thrilled us. The imagination of the dish and the way it is served should be praised. The chefs of this tavern offer extraordinary flavors that we remember from the kitchens of our grandmothers. This tavern is dominated by excellent Balkan specialties, excellent gourmet food. I finally smelled that real grill roast. For the appetizer, we chose batter-fried kashkaval cheese (cheese with his campo sauce), gourmand risotto (risotto with beef steak and sausage), pork and pepper stew (hot vegetable stew with pork neck fillet and kaymak cheese). The main part of the story were Campo Ćevap (minced meat roll stuffed with kashkaval cheese, pork fillet, chicken fillet and sausage), Đevrek Burger (baby beef patty with bacon, kashkaval cheese and kaymak cheese), Štinjan Cricket (10 ćevapi minced meat rolls on a bed of kaymak cheese with extras of ajvar and campo sauce). Also part of the story were the excellent Stuffed Chicken Fillet (chicken fillet stuffed with kashkaval cheese and mushrooms wrapped in bacon). The result is a symphony of magical flavors. We complemented this beautiful story with excellent desserts Soufflé (chocolate lava cake with ice-cream) and Campo Crêpe (three rolled crêpes with Nutella, jam and walnuts). I can genuinely say that I've been lucky enough to have never had to walk out of a restaurant before.

We visited Grill bar & Steak House Campo on a recent visit to Istria. We were seated fine, and asked what nationality we were.

We were then handed menus in Croatian, not a problem, I thought we'd just ask for some help ordering.

We were then ignored for over 20 minutes, not asked if we wanted a drink, not even acknowledged.

Another English family then came on and sat down, but they were given menus in English.

Easy mistake, I thought, so I managed to get the same waiter's attention and ask if we could get menus in English.

New menus were brought out but again in Croatian..... and then the waiter took the drinks order of the family that came in 20mins after us.

I gave it another 5 minutes and left, fed up, because the food looked nice, but I still wonder what their problem was and why they would treat visitors to their restaurant...
