Barba Danilo — Restaurant in Grad Rovinj

Unfortunately this restaurant was not as good as previous visits. Welcoming staff, but the food was both over and under cooked when it came to the fish (we ordered the platter for 2 people) with another ordering the grilled calamari. Overall it was rubbery and tasteless. Prices have increased meaning the overall quality to value and experience don't marry up unfortunately.

We didn't ask for a discount for the meal or expect one but shared our feedback at the end of the meal to highlight our disappointment and support in the restaurant gaining feedback to help them.

We disagree with the restaurants response, we had not cleared our plates, we actually left the majority of the fish platter due to the disappointment. The timings and speed of service was never a complaint of ours, staff were attentive with...

We have been traveling Istria to find good food, and this is by far the best, and we have chosen places to eat because of reviews and recommendations.

It is definitely worth a detour, and be sure to try their gorgonzola ice cream. This is the best place for food lovers - they also give a decent wine suggestion.

The staff is the nicest we have metme here, smiling and friendly. They have knowledge about what they serve, and will be sure to do their best.

The price is somewhat high for a tavern, but you get so much for your money it actually is cheap. This should not be classified as a Tavern though, but a restaurant. We have only very small things to mention that could have been better.

Be sure to reserve a table at least a day ahead, as they of course are...

The service was fantastic, our waiter really paid attention to us and came with great suggestions. The food was wonderful, we shared a truffle pasta as a starter and then I had an angler with truffles and my mom had a steak with truffles, all of which was wonderful. Since we clearly like truffles the waiter suggested a specialty of theirs for dessert which is truffle ice cream with olive oil. This sounded bizarre to us but precisely for that reason we wanted to try it and we certainly do not regret that decision. This truffle ice cream is a must-try if...
