Bistro Istra — Restaurant in Grad Rovinj

I ordered a portion of Fritto Misto, which according to the forography, confirmed by the waiter, contained squid bread, 4 pan sardines, two pieces of fillet bread and two fish larger than bread size. We were brought to the table with a tray with 2 bread sardines, without any piece of bread fillet, a single one over bread and in the remainder many potatoes, in complete contrast to what was presented to us. I noticed the waiter irregular after 3 minutes, who in a very naughty way told us that we ate the pieces that do not appear on the plate. Of course, he forced us to pay for the portion brought. The behavior made me puke, could’t literarry continue to eat. I left the table immediately after I paid the bill. I have made a compalaint to the consumer protection in Croatia. After wondering around and finding that literally everywhere else on Happy Cow was closed, we finally asked this resturaunt if they could accommodate us. We showed them our vegan passport app and our waiter, Kimmy, was so helpful. He went and checked with the kitchen to see what they could do for us and even went back to double check the answers to our questions. Timmy was also a great waiter and very accommodating to our group.

They were able to make the truffle gnocchi vegan for us (which normally would come with cream) and it was absolutely incredible. It was so filling and such a great price at 9.50 kn. We also order the roasted vegetables, chips and vegetable risotto which were delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant, especially given the gorgeous water...

In an area where there are so many choices, this one was great! We had walked around and found so many options. It was the server that made us to decide to stop here. It did not disappoint. The staff was so wonderful and friendly. We ordered a variety of food and were pleased with everything. I got the 4 cheese gnocchi. I was a little disappointed because one of the cheeses is blu cheese (not my favorite). When the host returned and noticed I had not eaten much they asked why. I explained and they offered to remake my meal excluding the cheese I didn't like. I would never have expected this kind of service! The remake was amazing! Fish and chips were also excellent....
