Wanted to enjoy a seafood dinner with family and friends. Was very hard to find, but seemed like an enjoyable place. The waitress proceeded to take our orders but we were shocked at prices which were the same as Varadero, the town we decided not to dine in because someone recommended us to eat here to save money and have very good seafood. We had 11 people total, my husband, who is Cuban American, was paying for everyone's meal, his family. When the waitress says the can of soda is $2 was frustrating because we knew that same can soda is $0.50 outside in the stores. We felt we were being taken advantage of and decided to not eat there. The waitress I guess got offended and started saying words to me although she knew I could not speak any Spanish, my husband translated what she was saying. 20 years visiting Cuba I have never been treated so bad...

The taxi cab driver will ask where you want to go and convince you to go to this great market which is just a crafts market with the same stuff everywhere and the cab driver tips the people in the market and then takes you to this resto where the same thing happens lol I mean you get a small peice of chicken with a cup of rice and some salad for 22 USD for 4 of us came out to 103 usd they added 10% - we didn't get any drinks after we saw the prices - basically research where you would want to go before getting into a cab because the taxi driver will convince you to go here for the best food in cuba. There is definitely kickback tips involved with the drivers. There are a lot of flies everywhere so we had to keep swatting. They charge 1 usd for take out containers. They will lie to you about prices upfront, tell you drinks are included etc. and tell you there isn't a menu but when you get the final bill they will put a premium on everything. If you want to offer pesos, they'll give you a ridiculous exchange rates to dollars which makes no sense. The pricing is there to rinse tourists because it's way too expensive for Cuba.
If your cab driver takes you here directly, know that he is being compensated for it. It's in a shady area, and you'll want to take a cab to get here and get back to your resort/hotel. Also, they do have a menu, when we protested she showed it to me on her phone and then got caught in their lie of the prices as well.
Do not go here, and if you do, get all the prices upfront and only pay what you were...
