Sense by the beach — Restaurant in Κοινότητα Κισσόνεργας

Arrived at sense by the beach and from the get go really disappointed. Had a table for 9 and waited 30mins for our drinks to arrive, then it took almost another 30mins for staff to take our food order.So many staff in the waiting but no one could take accountability for requests for more drinks, it was passed from one staff member to another. We got drinks that we didn’t even order and later on these were still on our tab. Completely messed up our food order also, from the 1st meal been served it was another 20mins to all 9 dishes arrived. As a family we wait till all is served and by this time our food was freezing. Our food only consisted of pizzas and burgers. Was absolutely disgusted by the burgers we were served. After we got the bill which was €451 euros we had many items in the bill that wasn’t ordered so PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL, Yes it’s a name established business but if you don’t have the tools don’t open up shop. Personally I think they have opened doors in a hurry to bring in the cash. We complained about the service to which we were told leave us a review.

We were gutted in March when we couldn’t eat here because it was under construction so couldn’t wait for our time here. I did pre-book as a party of 2, and they don’t usually accept reservations for parties under 4 but I begged! Food was good. It didn’t blow us away but I have heard mixed views from locals. The dishes aren’t huge but I would say they are worth what you pay. We ordered spring rolls (amazing) pepperoni pizza (satisfactory, didn’t blow us away) and the chicken goujons (pretty bland) We had 3 soft drinks and 3 alcoholic drinks. Our total bill was 94€. The toilets seemed to still be being built or finished off but they were alright considering. The atmosphere was ok. The tables are quite close together so anyone who wants to smoke or vape right next to you, can, and it’s not that nice trying to enjoy your food when someone is smoking next to you. Can’t be helped. Service was adequate. The waiting staff were busy, rushed off their feet, took a while to be seen, and then when we were, it was rushed. We have been to Sea You Bar in the past and have always loved it. This year we returned not knowing that it was a new bar with new owners. When we arrived, we waited 20 minutes for someone to come over to take our drinks order. Then it took a further 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Finally we ordered our food and when it arrived it was all mediocre. I would avoid the calamari as that was what I ordered and it came drenched in oil, flavourless and raw so had to send it back. The prawns were impossible to eat and very obviously frozen from a packet. However there were 3 certain members of staff, 2 men and a woman that made our experience a lot better comparing them to other members of staff that were dismissive and rude, those few members of staff honestly made our evening enjoyable. The only name we caught was Gary and he was fantastic, recommending a great bottle of wine.
