Mediocore food for slightly inflated price. It was ok.
Response to the owner:
Excuse my short and rather harsh reply. I decided to give you proper review below.
The food was not as good as I'd expect from a regular non-fast food restaurant that specifically claims to make homemade meals. We ordered chicken with rice and the biggest burger on the menu (I don't remember the name). Both of them were ok (2/5) in terms of taste, size and ingredients. It's something I'd eat again if I was hungry and there was no other option available but I would not go for it again otherwise.
This was the first time I was in the area. In TRNC I usually dine in similar restaurants in dowtown touristic district of Nicosia so I expected the prices here to be lower in comparison. That wasn't the case. The prices at your place were actually around 20% higher for the meals we ordered and based on your reply, it seems to be same for English breakfast.
We didn't interact with staff that much so I don't want rate that category.
I have to say that price wouldn't be an issue if the food was worth the higher price but unfortunatelly this...
Read moreAbsolutely love this place, we were so pleased to be back after so long… We’ve missed you guys!!
We found out about The Wild Duck through word of mouth…It doesn't disappoint. Has to be the best place to eat good homemade food, with picturesque backdrops and landscaped gardens, I enjoy a little walk around the garden and back for dessert...because I can LOL! It’s such a pleasure to be eating in a clean environment.
We are always welcomed by the warm and friendly faces of the family owners and staff. We’ve visited both during the day and evening, the atmosphere is fab either way. Prices are as pleasing as the yummy food. Recently, so far I’ve had the breakfast, homemade Lentil Soup, Salmon burger, chips & salad, and apple crumble and custard 🤭no not at once! We’ve returned a few times since opening after lockdown.
Amazing customer service! Thank you so much Emma, Aziz and Team! Not forgetting our deliveries throughout the pandemic when...
Read moreThis used to be a place I visited frequently. On my last visit with my son, we ordered a drink and spent some time in the play area. About an hour later, one of the waiters approached us and said, on the owner’s instruction, that we had to order food, otherwise we should use the municipality’s playgrounds. How can such an obligation exist? We weren’t even hungry, and I found this approach extremely inappropriate and shocking. Such an attitude is unacceptable for families with children.
Edit:
Thank you for your reply. However, I would like to point out that there was no information anywhere in your establishment regarding such a rule. Moreover, when I offered to order another drink, I was told that I specifically had to order food. This approach is both confusing and creates a negative experience...
