Came here few times already. It's probably number one when it comes to ramen restaurants in Prague.
Visited with my Japanese friend whom only confirmed what I have already claimed - it's nearly authentic and delicious.
So far I tried 3 different ramen here: Miso Red which was yummy, rich and a bit on the thicker/heavier side. Kara Miso - got the spiciness "level 3". Finally a Japanese restaurant that makes the spicy ramen actually spicy! As a spicy food lover level 3 was perfect, can't imagine level 5. Definitely be careful if you are about to orded that one. They take the spiciness seriously. Last I tried was their limited offer one, which sadly I don't remember the name of, but I recall that it must have been something along the lines of thick miso ramen. It's really heavy yet tasty. I recommend to buy that one when you are super hungry.
I also recommend to get the extra chashu if you are a meat lover. I believe if you don't, you only get one or two pieces.
Drinks offer is great, I can say I didn't have such a tasty ice tea in a long time.
I only take one star off for the service. Most of the time we went there (during lunch time), it was rather busy so we didn't question it much, but last time we arrived for dinner, it was rather a slow night for the staff, yet we had to wait a ridiculous amount of time, only because the waitress decided it's better to giggle and gossip behind the counter. Some customers had to wave several times in order for the waitress to look and notice. And as someone who is also experienced in the gastronomy - please avoid gossiping about customers when they can still hear you. I understand it wasn't intentional but the counter is not sound proof and people can still overhear. Not a good impression.
Other than that, I definitely recommend to pay it a visit for a...
Read moreComing inside was wonderful, the interior really suited the place. But once we all came in and ordered our friend came to join us later. She had to get the menu herself and even after that the staff would take ages before even coming to ask her what she would like to get to eat. In the end she got nothing as they never came back with her order, fortunately, cause she unknowingly dodged a bullet. Coming home I woke up at 3am with a terrible stomach ache and couldn’t move at all, it took 2 hours for the pain to pass at least so that I could fall back asleep, my boyfriend called me in the morning to ask me if I too had thrown up or had diarrhea, confirming that it was indeed from the ramen we all ate. Later in the next week I asked two more of my friends who were there and ordered the same meal (Chicken Ramen) and they all had the same issues. I’m writing this as a person who’s studied Veterinary Medicine and am extremely critical when it comes to HACCP. Please take more care in the process of making meals in the future, especially considering that this is not some street vendor and the prices are far too expensive for your customers to be in pain for a...
Read moreThis is truly a really nice place! They have a truly authentic menu and taste. I lived in Japan for 4 years and Isai Ramen took me right back to the taste of Japan! I was pleasantly surprised. The only part of this place that wasn't authentic was the atmosphere, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Usual Japanese Ramen houses are loud, steamy, and homey type places, but Isai Ramen is a nice, quiet, upscale place to sit down and have a nice taste of Japan. The employees were very polite, attentive, and knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions with becoming annoyed or short with me. There is plenty of parking in the area and it's free on the weekend, so that was a big benefit as well. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this place if you're in the area and looking for a nice quiet place to sit down and have an authentic taste of Japan. The prices were fair and the serving sizes...
