We arrived with a tour group of two buses. As we entered the restaurant, we were told exactly where to sit and were pointed to two tables - one in the front near the entertainment and one in the back in a sort of side room. We, as a group, asked if there were any other tables to sit at and were told "No! Just two!" So, okay...we filled the two up. As the second part of our group came in they were told the same. To make a long story short - if you are unfortunate enough to get sat down in the back room you will not be able to see much of the entertainment and will not be asked to join in the merriment as often as if you were sitting in the main room. From the back room, only three out of approximately twenty-four guests in the back room were chosen. The food was okay at best...no one in any of the parties our evening were given a choice that we could see. The wait staff were just okay too. Not very friendly...no smiles. The entertainment was good for the ears...remember, we were in a back area so difficult to see. For what we paid, I would have rather asked around for another authentic restaurant closer to us and enjoyed the night view of Prague. The picture of the entertainment I am including was taken with a zoom lens and me standing up between the sets of tables... sorry no...
Read moreMy family (my wife, two teenage daughters, and me) visited this restaurant as members of a choir tour, having performed in central Prague earlier that day. What a wonderful time we had! The restaurant appears to have only one seating, at 7pm; perhaps 100-150 diners. The meal was billed as traditional Czech; it included what seemed like unlimited wine, a three-course meal (appetizer, main, and dessert; the main was a kebab with chicken and pork). A performing group did local dances (some with accompanying silent skits), live music, and interacted with the diners. At least two of the troupe spoke English very well, so they could announce what was happening. Many of the numbers required audience participation, including a brief dance lesson. If I say too much more, I'll spoil the surprises. I do not know if this was a Friday-only show, or every night is like this. The evening wrapped at 10pm.
My daughters could not stop commenting on how much fun it was for the rest of the night. I don't know the cost, as it was bundled into our tour price, but it was three delightful hours of food, music, and fun. I'd love to be able to visit...
Read moreWe attended a folklore event - we received a warm welcome from all staff. For us, the highlight was the entertainment provided, which was superb! Immensely talented and skillful musicians (speaking as a semi-pro musician myself) performed a whole array of pieces across all styles - they provided music for the excellent dancers and the excellent singer. Everything was done with skill and also humour, making it so very entertaining! If you can get to see them, don't miss out! The food was enjoyable as well of course, but the entertainment was the ultimate high...
