Opened in what used to be a classic Amager boozer I must say I was a bit sceptic about a fancy beer bar in this part of town. But at the same time really excited. And everytime I go there's usually plenty of people so let's hope they are here to stay. Massive menu with around 25 different beers on tap, a few cocktails on tap and a pretty decent gin menu as well I presume (not a massive gin fan myself). They pretty much always have some new beers to try on the menu but also have some staples so I already have a few favorites to try if I'm not feeling particularly adventurous and just want a beer I know I'll like. Prices are more than fair, and if you're ever in doubt are intrigued by the menu the staff are more than happy to give some advice and even let you taste the beer before you buy. There's a small beer garden in the back for the smokers and I can imagine it will be awesome once summer comes around. The only thing missing is a few snacks option. I believe all they have is chips which is nice. But a beer sausage or two wouldn't hurt. The selection of beer ranges from the easy going pilsner spectrum to the heavy weight, full flavor types, one would expect at a well assorted beer bar. If you are in doubt, you get to taste before buying.
Besides beer, they have a wide range of spirits, and a handful or two of classic drinks. Whiskey ranges from good ol' fashioned Irish to "let's oil up this rope, burn it and stick in a bottle with these shoes " aka good stuff.
The staff is very pleasant, and gives you full attention, which means you might experience a small queue forming, but no more than three to five minutes, and when it is your turn, they will guide you, and make sure you get the right one for you, and not just the most expensive one.
I highly recommend Hop House to all who like to have a tasty...
Read moreFound this absolute gem of a bar on our recent trip to Copenhagen. The interior was warm and stylish. With quirky features and fantastic art work in the yard area. Heated smoking facilities outside was a breath of fresh air (pardon the pun) after visiting a few bars that allowed smoking indoors. The staff were extremely hospitable and welcoming from the off. Extensive drinks menu included a variety of cocktails, gin, whiskeys and rums but the best feature was 25 different craft beers, beautiful displayed and ready to try before you buy....
