I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant inside the Louisiana Museum in Denmark.

This restaurant is located inside the museum, which makes it a convenient stop during a visit. It can be difficult to find a table when the museum is busy and especially on rainy days, since the terrace cannot be used and everyone tries to sit inside. It took me about five minutes to get a seat, and then almost ten more minutes before a server came with the menu and took our order — the place seemed a bit understaffed.

We ordered the meatballs and the smoked salmon, both of which were honest, well-prepared dishes, though not a fine dining experience.

What really makes this spot enjoyable is its location between two museum sections, with large windows overlooking the sea and the outer courtyard, where some art pieces are displayed. A nice place to take a break, enjoy the setting, and recharge before continuing the museum visit.

In the afternoon, while visiting the outdoor art exhibit, I also stopped by their coffee stand in the middle of the garden for a coffee and an almond pastry. It was a very pleasant break, and the pastry was...

Not vegan friendly 🚫🌱 and very expensive. The chef could only offer me one dish for lunch, which was the ‘soup’. It was a very small portion, which it was basically just veg broth with some tiny pieces of artichokes and a few burnt potatoes. It came with a very small piece of bread and some butter. I assumed the butter was vegan, as this was their ‘vegan option’. I found out only after the meal that it was butter made with dairy, not margarine.

I spent 189 coronas for this dish. Overall I found that kitchen was not accommodating towards me; I asked if they could make me a salad with different ingredients, they said they could remove ingredients, but not replace them, and the price would be the same either way. I asked if they could offer me one of the vegan options of the dinner, and they said no. I would not recommend this place if you follow a plant based diet of if you have allergies. The staff here is not trained properly and also lacks sensibility. They didn’t even apologise to me about the butter. The cutlery...

Would give the place 0 stars if I could. Walked in and was not acknowledged by staff and it was not clear where the menus were or if it was table/desk order. I was then told I can sit ANYWHERE I like and my order will be taken from the table.

After 10 minutes of waiting outside I asked a waitress if I could get my order taken. She said she'll be right back and then I saw someone place "no table service outside" signs on the table but nobody communicated this to me. I went back inside and asked if this is true and they said yes. To which I replied other people are eating outside and I was told I could sit anywhere I like. The waitress then said no outdoor service in the evenings.

So my order was taken inside. I only ordered a water and again had to wait another 10 minutes before asking when I'll get my water. Turns out they got my order wrong and overcharged me. This was refunded but I'm appalled by the service. Nice waiters, but absolutely 0 communication skills. By far the worst service I've ever...

Denmark 🇩🇰 Humlebaek - restaurants We loved the Louisiana museum and grabbed a meal here yesterday. The cafe was crowded as expected but the air was extremely stagnant and a bit breathy on the east side of the dining room. A gross but easily fixable problem by cracking a door to the patio. We enjoyed our pumpkin bisque and loved the autumn themed option. Very bisque (creamy) with a hint of pumpkin. The meat/squid can be removed creating a vegetarian soup option. The most underwhelming experience was the latte or lack of milk alternatives unless you order a black coffee with a tiny creamer side of OatMilk. Overall service was adequate and did a good job with the rush. Paying immediately actually really helps speed things up so I'm glad you pay immediately upon seating down and placing your order. We'll be back but we'll stop down the street for a latte prior to arrival. Humlebaek doesn't have a shortage of good coffeeshops that offer OatMilk lattes. Great place for a quick, albeit pricey lunch.
